Farm Fresh Challenge: Office Supplies

Happy September! It's that time again to bring you some farmer inspiration for the new farmer monthly challenge. The theme is... Office Supplies.  It's the month to celebrate Back to School time. For many of you, many of the kids are already in school learning 2+2 or perhaps something a little harder: like what the heck is "x"? hehe. It seems so unnatural to start school so early on (cuts right into summer) but it is what it is so we want to see you use office supplies on your projects. Think of paper clips, staples, notebook paper, tags (such as myself) so go for it!

My inspiration for you this month are tags, something that I enjoy creating. I grabbed a couple of different sets and used them to make some cute, semi-quick tags to attach to a few supplies teachers need. Make sure to click over to the TGF blog to see what the rest of the farmers created for you. Happy Tuesday! I'm here today to share a fall theme/back to school theme cards that features Dear Apple from the Santoro/Gorjuss line, who is just perfect for this kind of project. It may seem a bit late to still be working on projects with this theme as Halloween is around the corner, but here where I live fall weather has just began. Until recently, the weather had been 85 degrees plus and so fall weather seemed like a beautiful notion that was yet to come.

Our Fate Lies Within...

Happy Wednesday! I'm here today to share an altered composition notebook made for school. It features the Sweet Frou Frou greeting farm girl with an empowering quote:

Our fate lies within us.

You only have to be brave enough to see it.

This quote was chosen so that it can remind the recipient to always be brave in whatever she does and to not be afraid of the unknown. I'm hoping that seeing the message daily, it'll ingrain itself into her psyche. A wonderful way to start the new school year.

Hello out there. I apologize for the lack of posts but I've been enjoying my days out in the sun and the weather is much too beautiful to stay in.

So onto the post... I created a a couple of back to school cards. My cards are a combination of Good Luck and Congrats. The first one is for my sister, who is starting a new job tomorrow in the Special Education field. Since she loves anything to do with apples that is school related I thought I would create an apple card for her. The second shaped card/postcard is for my niece. She will be starting 3rd grade tomorrow and will now be on a different time schedule with the upper class kids. So I am going to add this small note of encouragement to her lunch box so she can read it during her snack time. I'm sure she'll like it, I just hope she doesn't get embarrassed or automatically tosses it.

Mini School Kits: Part1

Hi Everyone,
Like I said yesterday, I've been working on some mini Back-to-School Kits for my nieces (and a friend). I started working on this project over a week ago. My goal was to finish in a couple of days but that wasn't the case. This part of the project was prob the most time consuming. I somehow thought that I could alter these notebooks in less than 30 minutes like other crafters do. Lol!

So onto the project. I was inspired by several sites to alter a composition book. I know I couldn' pop dot any images or get extremely fancy but I did want to add my flair to them. I used the Rock Princess cart for all 4 comp books. I used their favorite colors and images that related to them...

Picture 1: Front covers

Picture 2: Book #1 is for my niece that is a senior in HS. She's hoping to learn how to drive this year so I thought this super cool chick was appropriate. I'm not completely done with this one. I want to ink the bike and add some white to the tires.

Picture 3: Inside of the comp book. Since I have never been a fan of the composition book I decided to cover up the inside of it as well.  All 4 of them are covered in the same manner but with different colors. They all have a pirate cupcake and they are all stamped with "You Are Fabulous", a butterfly and a heart sporadically throughout the pages.

  

Picture 4: Book #2 is for my 8yr old niece that loves purple and music, like myself. I just need to add her name and then I'm done.

Picture 5: This is the back of the comp book. Like I said, they all look the same except for the colors and placement of the "Girls Rock" image.

Picture 6: Book #3 is for the daughter of one of closest friend. Her DD wanted the Rock Princess cart but it wasn't possible. So I thought I would do a kit for her as well. Audrey loves skulls. She will be turning 12 at the end of this year so she is already at that stage that she wants to dress with dark colors, skinny jeans and skulls. 

Picture 7: Book #4 is for my 10 year old niece that loves to sing and perform. She's slowly being corrupted by Provocraft. Lol. Every time she visits, she wants to use the cricut to make a card or make cuts to take with her.

1. Charisma Cardz Challenge - #33 "Die Cut" Theme, interpreted as I please.
2. Cricut Cardz Challenge - #39 "Back To School" Theme. I'm not certain if only cards are allowed for the challenge/site. I sure hope not because I love that I found another site that wants us to play with our cricut.
