A Merbean Tote

Hello Farm Friends! Today is my day to share on the Greeting Farm blog and I have  a mermaid theme project for you.  I was in need of a new library/book bag, as my previous had torn, so I took myself to the store to find a canvas tote. Now at first, it worked out fine but I soon realized that it was much too drab and boring for my books - plus it was getting lost among all my market bags- so I came up with this. I blew up Leela Merbean in a word document and printed her out, several times. I then cut out the image in several stages and used them as templates to get the image and paint on the tote. Now, to make it a little easier for myself, I ignored her crown and didn't add it to the tote.  I created a bit of scenery and gave her a pink ocean to swim in. To finish the tote, I wrote in one of Melville's quote that is inspiring and on point with the ocean life.
Her merpal, Coralina Merbean was used for the "if lost, please return to" tag seen on the upper right side. She was printed on heavy watercolor 140lb paper to make sure that the tag will uphold to the wear and tear that is to follow.  I hope that my project inspires you to use your images in fun and funky ways.
Thanks for stopping by!

Some Birthday Love

Hey all!! It is turning out to be beautiful today, my app says that we will be hitting 70 degrees around noon. Yay!! I hope it doesnt lie to me like it has in the past. Grrr. Lol.

Yesterday I gave a peek of a few cards Ive been working on. Today I have a couple of birthday cards. I'm all about using up all my paper to try to avoid having scraps. I managed to use 4 sheets of 6x6 for both cards, although it was a bit difficult afterwards but I had very little to toss. So yay! for that. My first card features Anya Lifts with the sentiment from Anya Celebrates.

Baby Fairy Love

Happy Wednesday! We are half way through the week and almost done with the first month of the year. OMG!!! Lol. Today I have a Love theme card featuring one of the adorable baby fairies from Mo Manning. He is uber adorable and makes me want a baby the looks like him. One day, one day :)

I hope that I don't bore you with this paper as I'm using it all up. Lol. I just love the look of it. I love the subtle tones with the mixture of nature and handwriting.
I'm playing with:
Simon Says Stamp - Anything Goes
Bunny Zoe's Crafts - Anything Goes
Mayzy Art - Romance
Little Miss Muffet - Hearts and Flowers (the hearts are embossed on the bottom left)

Now for a card without any coloring. I think this is my 2nd one that I've created like this. I must do it more often as the paper that we all love can be powerful on its own. Plus I think this look works especially well for male cards. I used the Art Type Stack from DCWV.

And here's a peek of some birthday cards and Valentine cards that will be popping up in the next few days.

The Greeting Farm is spreading the Love

Happy Friday!! I'm here with a long-ish post :) ...

TGF is spreading the love this Thanksgiving holiday. Jessica and Marie are very thankful and feel blessed for what they have and they wanted to show gratitude with a special Thanksgiving challenge.
The Challenge: Create a card or project with the theme of Thankfulness. You must use a TGF image to play along. Once you enter your card, please send Jessica a private email and nominate a person you might know that is a little down on their luck, struggling financially, etc. Please note that TGF will not share the name of the recipient you nominate - it will be private. Please click here to read the post in full.

My challenge card features Navajo Anya.

Now for our new Farm Fresh Friday challenge of the week..the theme is Twilight/Fairytale. I created a mini box using the new CC Sadie and I colored her up with Bella as a newly hatched vampire in mind (hence the red eyes).
On the inside, I added a Cullen necklace that I bought at Nordstrom along with an ATC featuring Flirty Edward from The Roll Call Kit. I think its a cute little gift for a Twi-Hard don't you think? :)

****

Now for a quickie card. I had this little gal colored up (who originally was slated for Halloween but seeing as that day has come and gone, lol) I decided to use her up for a "spooky birthday" theme card. Lol, I know I'm stretching it on this one but my stash of Kraftin Kimmie Stamps is extremely small and I wanted to play along with their Food/Drink Challenge. All I need to do is type up a Happy Birthday sentiment and I'm done. I'm in need of a good birthday stamp set. Any recommendations?

Thanks for stopping by!! I hope you have a great Friday and weekend!

Hi There! I'm here to quickly share a card I created for a friend of mine. She had a baby shower this past weekend to attend to a she wanted a special card with specific colors. It turned out that this adorable elephant, "I Forgot" from Mo Manning was perfect because the baby shower theme was elephants. Yay for coincidence! Lol.

SOG FB Fun Day

(Image: Alice Mae)

Hello Bloggers!! Some Odd Girl held a FB Fun Day today. There were challenges, prizes, tutorials and lots of discounts. They also had a scavenger hunt which was pretty cool with a fun image as the prize.

(Inside of Card)

The first mini challenge of the day was to create our own embellishments.
I used the butterfly technique for my project.

The main challenge of the event was to color up a SOGgy with a non-traditional color. I was going for a Magenta Pink hair do but I'm cringing as I see that her hair looks reddish in this light. I used one too many different tones and so I may have failed the assignment. Lol.

Not Too Shabby for Tickled Pink Stamps

Happy Sunday! This week Tickled Pink Stamps is proudly sponsoring The Corrosive Challenge where the theme is "Not too Shabby - Shabby Chic or Vintage Style" . We hope you head on over there and join in all the fun and you'll have a chance to win some Tickled Pink digis too. In the meantime here's my inspiration for the challenge.

I went for a Shabby Chic look. I'll always been a little lost as to what constitutes Shabby Chic or Vintage but I found a trick to it. Find a stack that you love that could pass off as that look, I chose DCWV Preppy Princess then add pearls and lace (I couldn't find my lace so I substituted) and voila, you have tricked yourself into a shabby chic look, lol.

For my image I used Party Pinkette Coraline, one of my favorite Pinkettes. She's great for all your birthday cards and once you cut off the balloon, for other projects as well. Make sure you hop on over to the Tickled Pink Stamp Shop to check out the Lolitas, Lads and Pinkettes. Also, make sure you hop on over to the Tickled Pink Blog to see some gorgeous Pink Lady creations.

SOG Fun with a little Tiddly Love

Happy Saturday Night!!! How are you enjoying your evening? I should be organizing and packing but instead I decided to create a bright and cheery card using Roller Mae to play along with Some Odd Girl. Today was a special day of Facebook Funday for SOG where discounts, tutorials and lots of SOGgy love were found.

I used the Sketch from the SOG Sketch Challenge

I also have a little Tiddly card inspired by the Mom's challenge over at Tiddly Inks. This one was made for my mom from her little princess, who is no longer me, lol! I've been replaced by my niece, oh well circle of life. Hehehe.
Image Used: Everyday Princess by Tiddly Inks  - I accidentally cut off her scepter but its ok :)
