Tiddly Inks Treasure Hunt

Welcome to the Tiddly Inks Treasure Hunt Blog Hop. We are celebrating Tiddly Ink's first birthday celebration and I'm excited that you are here with me. I was very Excited!! to receive the invite email from Christy to be one her special guests today. Psssha, Like I was going to say no (rolling my eyes) Lol. Thanks Christy!!! Im happy to be here.

Ok, so you should be coming over from the Uber talented Donna. If you not, hop on back to the Challenge Blog so you don't miss a  thing. There are lots of prizes to be had and a secret phrase you need to decipher to be eligible for some loot.

My creation today features Tiddly's new image GeekaTude. Ok so when I saw this cutie, I was hooked. First of all, geeks are all the rage now. Lol. My current favorite show, which became part of my all time fave top 3 is Big Bang Theory. I find them hilarious, especially Sheldon and Howard. Now If you don't know what I'm talking about then Hello?!?!! where have you been???? lol. But if you do, then yay!!!
This little geek also stole my heart because of all of his apple products and as you can see I'm a huge Apple fan. I love them all especially my iPhone. So I thought I would use this cutie patootie to make my first official iPhone card. I think it was about time I paid homage to my favorite toy :) Now I know this looks like a fat iPhone, lol, but if I would have used the phone's original measurements it would have been much too small and I have a hard time coloring small images with my pencils. ***Please Note: I am the first stop with Pirate Jane. My letter is S. Arrrrgghhhhh!!! Lol***

You can find this cutie along with 20 new images Christy created for this special occasion in her Shop. Make sure you hop on over to see what you like, because I'm certain that you will. And as a reminder, there will a major Sale from May 1-3 in honor of this celebration. C'mon, who can resist a sale. Plus you can use your new images to play along on May 10th for the next special blog hop. It's a win-win!
Ps. I will entering this in the Simon Says Stamp Anything Goes Challenge

BLOG BOOTY: So as a special Thank You for hoping along with us, I am offering a Tiddly Digi Stamp Set of your choice. Those are great little sets because they have images, sentiments and background paper. Go ahead and leave me a comment and I will pick a random winner on or after May 3. You don't have to be a follower but I would love it if you are. Huge thanks to Christy for generously sponsoring my blog and for sharing her talents with all of us.

I {Heart} Tickled Pink

Ok,ok so my obsession with pink is getting out of control. But I promise a few more pink creations and then Ill be done for a while. I swear, I promise (crossing my fingers behind my back. lol). This post is dedicated to Tickled Pink Stamps. Ill have several cards featuring the beautiful Lolitas. This card is for their GDT Call. I would just love to be part of this Amazing pink team. I hope Kellie isn't tired of seeing all this pink. I promise Kellie, I do have other colors in my stash. Lol.

For this card I used Lil Lolita Ivy, one of my fave.

This is my Tickled Pink Spring card. The challenge was to flowers. Easy enough right? Well not so much for me. Lol. When I'm told I need to use certain elements I shy away from them but when its do as you please, its like ok, pile them all on. Lol.

For this card I used Lil Fashionette 30's Lylah rubber stamp.

I will also be playing along with Simon Says Stamp Challenge - Anything Goes.
Thanks for stopping by!!

'Hatter' meet Timmy

Happy Easter all. I hope you all had a good day spending it with your loved ones and gorging on chocolate. Mmmmmm. Tell me, whats equally as good as Ressess Peanut Butter cups? Anybody?? ummmm, Peanut Butter M&Ms. Oh wow!!! Ok, now I want some. I'm going for my goody basket. hehee.

Quickly Id like to share with you a Wonderland card I created. In case you don't know by now, I'm a huge fan of all Alice. Everything about it I find magical, beautiful and mesmerizing. So I wanted to create a shape card using the Hatter's hat and distress it to no end. I recently got some distress inks (which by the way I'm loving) and I used it to add to the edges of the whole card.
I know I'm soooo behind on loving his distress ink pads but what can I say, but I'm guilty of being a novice. lol.

r I thought it would look cute to add Alice to his top, just like in the movie scene where she is tiny and Hatter puts her on his hat to throw her across the lake. I used a special edition Anya Alice stamp from the Greeting Farm. I stamped her with Distressed Ink and then shaded her in with my Prisma. I'm playing along with Simon Says Stamp and Show - Tim Holtz Technique.
Thanks for stopping by!

A few more "Just Because"

Happy Pre-Friday. Holiday weekend coming up, Woooo!!!

So I just wanted to share some "quick" cards I made. Lol!!! That really is a laughable term for me because even the simplest ones are nothing less than hours of love :)

For my first card, I'm using a special Rio digi Simply Betty owner, Betty, created for her daughter. It was a special birthday digi in honor of her tuning 13. It was such a touching story of what her teen chose as her bday gift. ...... Ok, so I'm realizing with all this pink going on, I might be subconsciously trying to relive my pre teen years. Lol. I always wanted pink hair or pink tips but I was never courageous enough to do it so now, I'm vicariously living through my coloring. hehehe ......   I will be playing with Simply Betty Stamps - Rio Challenge.

Card 2:  I used Cookie Bugg digi from Tiddly Inks. Lol! I just realized I forgot to color her legs. Oh well, It happens :). At least I caught it before I sent it off. Does that ever happen to you? You get distracted by something else on your card and you forget the final touch. [EDIT: I colored in her legs and uploaded again]. I will be playing with Tiddly Inks Challenge - You're a Stitch.
Card 3: For this card I used one of my new favorite rubber stamps, Cheeky Chat from the Greeting Farm. The cheekys are prob my favorite line although they are all cute! And whats not to love about this super girly cute stamp. Doesn't it take you back to the time when you usto just gab, gab, gab away on the phone. Awhhh, to be young again. I will be playing along with: Simon Says Stamp Challenge - Emboss It. I used 2 different embossing folders to give my card texture. I'll also be playing with The Play Date Cafe using their #78 color combo. I would have never thought to combine these colors but I think they look great together. I'm really glad I found this color challenge blog because it pushes me outside my {pink} box. :)

And now for some awesome news. Christy will be celebrating Tiddly Inks one year blogaversary on April 30 with an awesome Treasure Hunt. I'm very Excited!! to be a part of it so make sure to come back and hop with us. They're will be lots and lots of loot. So you DO NOT want to miss it!

Thanks for stopping by!

Just Because

Boy it has been some rough days .... ugggghhhh. But moving on, hope you had a wonderful weekend and are enjoying life's little pleasures.  So here's another CAS boy card. I do love the way they look but I sometimes get anxious when Im not piling on flowers and pins and ribbons (oh my, lol). I don't think they would appreciate all that jazz. What do you think?

For my image, I used one of the newest Lil Lads from Tickled Pink Stamps. Isn't he the cutest nerd ever?! He reminds me of my favorite guys (the guys from Big Bang Theory). I just love, love, love that show!!!! It's actually one of my all time fave. And this lil lad looks like a combination of Leonard and Sheldon. So he's going to be used quite often.
Lil Lad Eric digi from Tickled Pink Stamps
A2 Size
Currently he can be found in digi form but only for a few more days. He will then only be found in rubber form. So hurry over to pick up your digis or else you will need to wait til mid next month.

I will be playing along with:  The Play Date Cafe - Color Combo 77, Tickled Pnk Stamps - #15 Sketch, Bunny Zoe's Crafts - One for the Boys, Simon Says Stamp - For a Child.  Thanks for stopping by!

I will be playing with:
The Play Date Cafe - Color Combo
Simon Says Stamp - For a Child
Bunny Zoe's Crafts - One For The Boys

Twilight Submission Call plus some Fabby News

EDIT: Submission is now CLOSED. Thank you for all your wonderful submissions. I will be back soon with another call.

Hello Scrappy Friends. I have some fabby news to share with you today!!! I am very Excited!! to announce that I am new writer for GingerScraps Magazine. I am over the moon about this amazing new adventure and opportunity and I would like to Thank Kristal (from Getting Cricky) for making this happen. And of course, also, my editor Dora for picking me :)

I have already been hard at work designing, creating and thinking. lol. My column will predominately showcase all those gorgeous cards we have all learned to create but have no fear because I will still be on the hunt for other gorgeous creations such as layouts, minis, altered items, etc.
I'm also excited because today marks the first day of me working on my first article. I just love the theme I choose to work with. It is a theme we all know and love:

Twilight (The Saga)

How exciting, right? If you love Twilight and would love to have your piece possibly published then send me an email stating your interest. Your card/piece can be inspired by the books or movies.
This is what I would like from you:
In the subject line: please write Twilight Submission Call.
In your body: Please tell me what you would like to submit. If you have a blog and have already uploaded it on there, provide your blog link and post link.
If interested, you will have until Monday, April 11th to send me an email. I know it's a short notice and I do apologize for that but time is money and the magazine waits for no one. Lol!

Here is a little something I created to get you inspired:
Dressy Edward from The Greeting Farm
A2 Size Card

Thanks for stopping by. I can't wait to see all your amazing Twilight work! Ps. My new picture will take you directly to my bio. If you are curious and would like to read a little bit more about my beginnings as a scrapper, click on the link.

Tiddly Inks Bunny Hop minus the Bunny. Lol!

So my title says it all...I'm joining the Bunny Hop without a cute bunny on my project. But in my defense I have been sitting on this image since late last year (or early this year? geesh, I cant remember when I bought it. lol) and I have been dying to use it. I think that happens to all of us, whether its a cartridge, stamp, paper or tool. You are guilty too, my friends, so no judgement. Lol.

Also, in true Jess form, I was late in wishing Christy (Tiddly owner) some sweet Birthday wishes. Correction! Am late because I am doing it right now.... Happy Birthday Christy!!! I hope you had a wonderful and relaxing day just like your beautiful gal here.

Take Me Away digi from Tiddly Inks
A2 Size

OK so the idea of this Bunny Hop is to make new bloggy friends. What can be better than to meet new people, find inspiration and give some as well. Plus, at the end of this..a few gals will be lucky enough to win some digis. To play along, you must enter before the 15th and use a Tiddly Image (which btw, she has some freebies in her shop). If you are new to digis and are scared to use them, don't be. That's the fun of crafting, experimentation. So I hope you join me and play along as well.

Also, I would love it if you would choose me as your partner. If you do so, you must leave a comment stating that I referred you and we both become eligible for a prize. To link up your project, click here. For more info, read below:

"Tiddly Inks is having a special "Refer Your Friends" challenge so I am inviting you to become a new or returning friend to the Tiddly Inks challenge blog. We both have a chance to win images, but more important, it will be a fun experience to see inspirational cards and meet new blogging friends.  If you decide to join in the challenge, please post the note below on your blog entry and in the Tiddly Inks comment section after you add your card to their challenge:
Note: "I was referred to Tiddly Inks by Jess M. from My Scrap Diary (myscrapdiary-jess.blogspot.com)"

I hope you play along.
Thanks for stopping by/commenting.

Tickled Pink Stamps FB Challenge and 'Tute

Hello Tickled Pink Lovers and Scrappy Friends!
Pink fan Jess here and I'm thrilled to be here today (lol) well where else would I be, this is my blog. The lovely and funny owner, Kellie, of Tickled Pink Stamps chose my idea for the Facebook Group challenge of this month. I was over the moon when she gave me the green light because Tickled Pink is another favorite of mine. As much as I love the cute and cuddly, I just love these images that are a bit more mature and mysterious.
Ok, so lets get going because this is going to be a long post.

The challenge for the month of April is to create a Post-It Note Holder.

I find these to be great little treats. They can be given away at crafty parties or they can be kept to throw in your purse or have on your desk. These are also great because you are able to use your scraps (something I’m always trying to do so I can have an excuse to buy more paper, lol). Please note that this is not my original idea. I learned this from another blogger; I just took the idea and tweaked it to my liking.

Supplies Needed:
TPS Image (I used gorgeous Lilith, my favorite!)
Post-It Notes (Size: 3x3, 100 sheets)
Strong Adhesive Tape (Red Tacky Tape, Scoretape, etc)
Ribbon (Approx 12-16 inches, depending on your liking)
Scoreboard (I used the Martha Scoreboard)
Medium of your choice (I used Prismacolor Pencils)
Paper Trimmer
Embellishments of your choosing

*** Please note that the measurements given here are based on the Martha Stewart Scoreboard ***

Chipboard
            Size 3¼ x 3¼              (2 pieces)
            Size ½ x 3¼                (1 piece)
Pattern Paper/Cardstock:
            Size 4¾ x 8 7/8           PP (1 piece)
            Size 3 1/8 x 6 ¾          CS (1 piece)
            Size 3¼ x 3¼              PP (1 piece)
Sizes translated into inches are as follow:
            Size 3¼ = 3.25”
Size ½   = 0.5”
Size 4¾ = 4.75”
Size 6¾ = 6.75”

STEP 1:
Grab your paper that measures 4 ¾ x 8 7/8
Score it at: 3/4, 4 1/8, 4 ¾ and 8 1/8
Since this is the base of the project, I recommend that you use a heavy stock paper (pattern or plain, your choosing). I used DCWV paper.
*Please ignore the measurement I wrote on the paper with pen. I miscalculated my initial measurements. But the ones written here and photoshoped onto the picture are the correct ones.

STEP 2:
Flip the paper and score at 5/8 and 4 1/8

STEP 3:
Grab your 3 pieces of chipboard and apply tape to them. Apply each piece of chipboard in the center of its corresponding area. You should have some wiggle room on each side of each piece of chipboard.
*Note: The chipboard I used wasn’t flimsy. For example, some people like to use cereal boxes as their chipboard (I have done that in the past and it works great for some things). For this project, the chipboard I used would equal to 2 pieces of cereal box stacked up on each other.

STEP 4:
Grab your piece of paper that measures 3 1/8 and 6¾
Score (on the long side) at 3 1/8 and 3¾
This paper does not need to be as thick as your base paper.
When you tape this paper down, do it based on how it fits your center spine. This will give your paper room to breathe and will allow you to close it and open without a problem. Some of the chipboard will be seen on the sides and top but that will be covered up.

STEP 5:
Cut off all 4 edge squares off the base. Then cut the 2 side strips at an angle (shown in the picture.

STEP 6:
Apply tape to the 2 sides (the ones cut at an angle)
Grab your ribbon and cut it in half. I used 12 inches of ribbon and I cut that in half to have 2 pieces of 6 inch ribbon. Apply one piece of ribbon on each side. Then add another piece of tape on top of the ribbon. So it will be like a little sandwich {Base, Tape, Ribbon, Tape}**After creating the 2nd one, I realized that it would be better to not place the right side ribbon on the flap. Tape down the ribbon in the middle of the right side. You will still have your ribbon sandwich. And remember, the post-it pad will cover it.**
*Note: I used 12 inches of ribbon but you might want to use more. I wasn’t able to make a proper bow with the type of ribbon I used and the length I used. If you use thinner ribbon then 12 inches should work fine.

STEP 7:
Peel off the tape from the bottom and top flaps and adhere down.
Then adhere down the side flaps. This will give you a cleaner look.

STEP 8:
Grab your Post-It, apply tape to the back of it and adhere to the base.

STEP 9:
Grab your piece of paper that measure 3.25x3.25
Flip it to look like a diamond and cut down through the center

STEP 10:
Apply a thin strip of tape to the 3 edges shown in the picture. The tape is marked by red.
Then apply to the base as shown. This will create a pocket for a small note to fit in.
*Note you will have one piece left over. You can throw the 2nd piece.  I used both to give you an idea of how to place the tape and paper.

STEP 11:
You can add trimming to your pocket if you like. If you decide to add a small note, it can not be bulky. It must be plain (as shown) or it will not fit. It must be plain (as shown)
*Note: You can place your pocket like in the previous picture or like this one. I prefer this way because it holds down the ribbon even more.*

At this point you are done! With the inside only. Lol!!
You can now close your holder and embellish the front cover. I tried not to use to many items on my front because I’m going to carry this around with me. And since my purse is a swirling vortex of, ummm, crap-lol, I cant have to much going on the front or else it will come undone.

Here is my final creation. As you can see I used my favorite color combo again. Plus, how can I not use the color pink considering this is Tickle Pink Stamps :)

Here is a shot from the back. They end up looking like little binders. You know, the 3 ring kind that you used in high school :). The spine also gives you room to write your name on it. I will do that once Im done.

Since I had a few mishaps with my first project. I created a 2nd one to make sure the measurements were correct and to iron out the kinks. Plus, Lilith look so lonely all by herself so I decided she needed a "friend" with her as well. lol.
I used one of the newest Lil Lads, Lestat.
And I used a new medium with him, watercolor pencils.

Thanks for stoppping by. I hope you enjoyed this and I cant wait to see what you create. As a side note: If you are not a memeber of theFB Tickled Pink Stamp Group, you are still able to play. All you need to do is ask to join the group and you must use a Tickled Pink Range Stamp.

*** SIDE NOTE: IMPORTANT****
I can not stress how important it is that you have wiggle room in your base. If you do not, this can happen to you. If you use thick chipboard you may need to alter your measurements by 1/8 or ½ an inch. This is what happened with me. I didn’t have enough space between each piece of chipboard which didn't allow me to close the holder. Because if this I had to slice the spine (from the inside and re-cut the middle piece of chipboard, which then led to me damaging the outside (ay-yay-yay). I resolved that by creating a bonding strip on the side (the black cs). But if your chipboard is thin like mine and you follow the measurements that I wrote then you will be fine.
Ok, so now this is it. I'm really done :) Thanks!!

Getting Cricky GD: Inspired Heart

Happy Sunday and Happy Mothering Day to all the mums across the pond. Although now that I think of it, I might be late seeing that London is just a tad bit ahead of us in time :)

Today, I'm a being featured as a GD at Getting Cricky. I'm excited to be there and like Kristal said, It's about time. lol. This weeks theme is Inspired Heart. I used my favorite couple from The Greeting Farm and inspired myself from the first card I made with these cuties. LOL, boy do I sound conceited I inspired myself from myself. Lol!! Actually, as much as i adore working with my stamps and products I sometimes feel lost. So Ill go through my older projects or rummage through my belongings and see what I have. 99% of the time, this will do the job. So when I began working on this project, I knew I wanted to replicate the first card I created with couple (seen on my sidebar) but not completely copy it. I used most of the same DP and I used my markers (not something I do very often) and changed it up a bit.

Now this is Inspired Heart because I created it for a fellow blogger as a special rak. I wanted to send her a little something that brought a smile to her face. I wanted to create good vibes/karma in this world we live in. Although it is a beautiful world, it can be bleak at times. So my idea was to create something beautiful and meaningful and send it off wholeheartedly to her. I think we should all do this. Create or send a little "sunshine spot", like Kristal calls it, to someone else out there because we can always use a little "sunshine".

Lol, I believe I just got completely off topic so i will stop here :). Now make sure to hop on over to Kristals blog to check out the challenge and play alog. She has a fabby prize to go along with it!

Kissy, Kissy digi from The Greeting Farm
Have I already told you that I just love, love, love that company.

A "Creeper" Tin Pail

Happy Saturday. I hope you are all enjoying your weekend. For today's post, I have an altered tin pail from the Target dollar spot. I was very surprised to see these there because they are larger than the minis they usually have. And I know these larger ones cost several dollars more. The shopaholic in me wanted to purchase at least 10 to have on stand by but the rational side of me beat me to a pulp and said NO. lol.

I originally created this to give away as an Easter Tin Pail. In the past years, these have been all the rage. It seems as no one really wants to buy the overly expensive, fluffed up cheap baskets from the supermarket, etc anymore. I mean, I don't blame you as to why you wouldn't. I don't. But there is something nostalgic to them every time I see them. Aren't they for you?

OK so I was saying, it was originally created to be given away as an Easter gift but I loved it so much that I decided to keep it and use it as a mini trash can for my mini scrap area (lol).

Creeper Jill from the brand new rubber stamp Creepin Kit
The Greeting Farm
I think for many, she might not be the cutest because of her expression but to me she is because of her expression. She just looks so annoyed, angry, giving you attitude, being sassy but I think that's what is so great about her. And she reminds me of my sister, who at first sight was like Uggghhh, lol.

I will be playing with:
My Craft Hot Spot: Tie A Bow
Crafting with Cristina: Cricutless
