SOG Gatefold Challenge

Hi there! It was Some Odd Girl FB Fun Day on Saturday and what that means is that they have challenges, major discounts and some fun random crafty chatter. One of the challenges was to create a gatefold card. But I think I goofed and did it wrong. One of the odd girls created a gatefold card with the panels cut in a circle and the image on the inside. As you can see, mine is the regular way. Whoops :)

Hope you had a good weekend. Thanks for stopping by!

Halloween Is Approaching

Happy Saturday and Happy Fall!! So there is no denying it, summer is over. Boo! So since I never been big on creating Fall like projects, you know the ones with reds, oranges, browns and leaves. It gets me a little sad, lol, so I thought I'd dive right into Halloween.

The first card I created is for the TGF Sketch Challenge that is exclusive to the Splitcoaststampers forum.  We are already on sketch 31 and this week our hostess is Eva. Great sketch right! It gives you lots of opportunity to use up that dp. That is what I did. I was just ripping out pages from my mat stack tothrow it all on there. I began to reorganize my stuff and I was appalled to see how much I've accumulated in the past 2 years. So now I am just ready to use it all.

I used Hallo Pumpkin Ian who is such a cutie! There are 4 other Halloween images that go perfect with him and look great together or alone.

Since I already had my Halloween paper out and this Hallo Bride Creeper already colored up I thought why not make a second card :) I was going for a little spookier look on this one. Although its hard to get spooky with The Greeting Farm, lol, they're too cute!

I used the Anyone for Anya sketch for this card.

Thanks for stopping by!! I hope you're enjoying your weekend.

FFF: Boy Birthday

Happy Friday. Today begins a new Farm Fresh Friday challenge over at TGF Blog and the theme is Boy Birthday with a Color Twist. You must use the colors: Aqua, Orange and Silver somewhere on your card. I used Birthday Boy Ian. He comes in digi form so if you do not have any boy stamps you can pop on over to shop to buy this cutie.

I hope you can play along with us this week and make sure you hop on over to the TGF blog to check out the rest of the birthday boy creations.

Neutral Baby Card

Happy Wednesday. I'm here with a baby card featuring one of Mo Manning's adorable images. This image is called "I Forgot" which is prob meant for an apology card but this lil elephant can pull off any type of card. I used the neutral color yellow to have as a standby.

FFF: Lace and/or Vintage

Happy Friday! Today we start a brand new Farm Fresh Challenge over at The Greeting Farm blog. The theme of the week is Lace and/or Vintage. Since I didn't have any lace on hand I went for the Vintage/Distressed look. My image is the new Latte Anya who is perfect for the Vintage look or for the bright and cheery look.

Do you want to know my secrets to "vintaging" and/or detressing your card? Yes, ok :)
One, find muted dp.
Two, keep your palette in the brown hues.
Three, run your scissors through it.
Four, add a little Timmy ink to it.
Five, throw on some pearls and lace (if you have it) and voila you're finished. hehe.

Ok so now that you know my secrets hop on over to the TGF blog to link up. Plus, you'll be able to check some more old world samples created by my dt sisters:)

Happy Crafting and Thanks for stopping by!!

A Princess Wall Hanging

Happy Thursday all! Today is my day to Showcase over at The Greeting Farm. I am showcasing a recycled project of mine. Ok so I must confess that originally my Princess Anya no.4 was slated for a card but it quickly developed a mind of its own and decided to be something else. I mean, with all the knick-knacks and bobbles I add how could it not? Hehe. So I decided to run with it and create a wall hanging.

Here are some closeups

On the Wall

You can create your own wall hanging with a recycled chipboard, there's no need to buy wood  if you don't want to. For my base, I used the back of a Bristol pad. I always keep those to re-purpose because it is an extremely thick piece of chipboard. I took extra care in covering the complete board, making sure the corners didn't bulk up.  I used one of my favorite stacks, The Preppy Princess stack from DCWV. I just love the shabby chic feel to it. The colors are soft and it works perfect for little girls projects as well mature women. I also left some space towards the bottom so I can personalize if I need to at a later time.
