Hello Spring

Hi friends, I'm over on the TGF blog  squeezing in with some last minute Spring theme inspiration. In case you didn't know, the tgf monthly challenge is still going on and you have until the 31st to submit your entries. The theme is Swing into Spring and it's quite versatile so go ahead and have some fun using clouds, flowers, umbrellas, colors, critters etc.

I, of course, was inspired by the pink/pastel colors of Spring and used this awesome echo park paper as my starting point. The image is the retired Hatter Bean (who occasionally pops up in the farmers market) and she looks ready for a spring luncheon with her hat full of flowers. I hope this inspires you to get creating this weekend and **if you're feeling a little lost, look at your already colored images and take inspiration from them.
Happy Holiday Weekend!

Fancy Chocolate Holder

First off... Let me apologize for the quality of the photos.  I was too busy out enjoying our weather, 79 degrees thank you very much lol, that I didn't make it home on time to have nice sun-lit pictures. They'll be replaced tomorrow. EDITED to add newly taken pictures.

(Where chocolate slides out)

So yes, Happy Sunday!!! I'm excited that tomorrow is a holiday as I'm still trying to fight off my cold. I'm hoping that some rest and a good dose of sun from tomorrow will finally be the end of this cold. Fingers crossed.

I have another fancy chocolate holder for you. I made one last year for Halloween and my friend loved it sooo much I thought I would make her another one. Although after seeing how this one turned out I'm debating on wether to keep it or not. You know when you make something that you're really proud off and you want to make it one of your to keep pieces. I don't have many of those, I think I have about 2 that I cant seem to part with so if I do keep this one, well then that make #3. I guess that's not bad considering if we keep everything we make then it'll be never ending. Lol.

Ok so for this one, I changed it up slightly. I changed the layout of my attachment, changed out the chocolate (used a special one I got from San Francisco) added flowers, embellishments and I also added dp to the back. Plus I used some extremely awesome kraft paper that sadly I only have 2 sheets of. It's a no name brand I picked up a while back and I still can't find paper that is equally sturdy and nice looking.

Side Note** If you ever plan on making one of these, make sure you use extremely sturdy card stock and reinforce it from all sides. Oh and you must use great sticky tape, be it red tape or score tape or something equally good.

OK Ladies enjoy the rest of your Sunday. As for me, I'm off to LAX but I'll be back tomorrow with a new Graphicat project and to play blog catch up.

Thanks for stopping by!!

SOG FB Fun Day

(Image: Alice Mae)

Hello Bloggers!! Some Odd Girl held a FB Fun Day today. There were challenges, prizes, tutorials and lots of discounts. They also had a scavenger hunt which was pretty cool with a fun image as the prize.

(Inside of Card)

The first mini challenge of the day was to create our own embellishments.
I used the butterfly technique for my project.

The main challenge of the event was to color up a SOGgy with a non-traditional color. I was going for a Magenta Pink hair do but I'm cringing as I see that her hair looks reddish in this light. I used one too many different tones and so I may have failed the assignment. Lol.

Graphicat Sketch #9: Terribly Late...Naughty

Happy Memorial Day!! This is the kick off to Summer and what a beautiful day it is. But let's put a pause on all the B-B-Q'ng and Pool jumping for a minute and give thanks to all the brave troops that have fought for us and for all the ones that continue to do so.

Today is also the beginning of a new sketch over at Graphicat Sketch Challenge. Here is my take on the challenge. It may seem like it's not there but I promise that it is, just peel off the layers of flowers. Lol.

I, again, used my favorite Hatter from Tickled Pink Stamps. He comes from Lil Perfect Match line, which by the way is 40% off. I was inspired by his top hat, which is why I added on to the front and one to the inside. The sentiment I used on the front, is one of my favorite lines of the movie. It's in the scene when Alice is arriving to the Tea Party. (This is not a digi, I typed it up myself).

For the inside of my card, I used one of Hatter's famous quote. This sentiment digi is called "Why Is A Raven" and can be found at the Graphicat Store.

Make sure you head on over to the Graphicat Sketch Blog to check out what the other Crafty Catz created for you.

Graphicat Sketch #8 with a TPS Sponsor

Happy Monday! It's the start of another Graphicat Sketch, #8 to be exact. This one is has a lot of possibilities, so hopefully, you play along.

Here is my take on the sketch. I used one of my favorite Tickled Pink Stamp images, Lil Little Lolita Ivy, who is currently on sale. In case you haven't heard, Tickled Pink Stamps is having a blow out sale where all rubber stamps must go and digis have a 25% off. Sadly Tickled Pink will be closing down, which you can read about it HERE, but in the meantime all images are still available for purchase so make sure you get yours.

This week, TPS is sponsoring The Corrosive Challenge, where the theme is Flowers, Doilies and Bling (use at least 2 of the 3).  I used all three items, how could I not, I just looooooove me some flowers :)

Sentiment: Graphicat Designs

Make sure you head on over to the Graphicat Sketch Blog and the Tickled Pink to check out all the amazing cards created for these challenges.

Saying Goodbye to TPS Challenges

Hello and Happy Evening! Tickled Pink Stamp Challenges is closing its doors. Insert sad face. They had a great run for over a year. Some were excellent challenges, some werent so up my alley (lol) but through out it all, they did provide gorgeous samples.

I'm here with my final entry featuring one of my all time fave TPS image, Lil Little Lolita Ivy. Isn't she the most adorable mini Alice out there?!!??? She just stole my heart when I saw her. She can be found in Rubber Form Here and Digi Form Here.

I used the Feb/March Quixotic Sketch for my LO.

Graphicat Sketch #2: Wild Tea Party

Happy President's Day!! I hope you are all enjoying your Holiday lounging, bbq-ing, crafting, shopping or all of the above :)  I'm here today with Sketch #2 for Graphicat Sketches/Designs. Isn't this sketch awesome and a little tricky (lol).  It allows you to add loads of layers which in turn frees up your space for new paper pads, flowers and fibers.  It is a vicious cycle isn't it? lol

Here is my take on the sketch using some of my favorite characters from one of my favorite stories.  I might have gone a little "wild" (lol) with the flowers but I just love the look of a lot of flowers on a card. I'm sorely lacking on a variety of them but with time, I'll either learn to make them myself, bow to crafty pressure and buy a huge expensive bundle or simple say, "the heck with this, no more flowers". lol

This special belated birthday card will be going to another Alice in Wonderland fanatic (my friend's 13 yr old).  It feels good to know that the hours I spent on this will  not be in vain but very much liked, appreciated and cared for. Now I'm off to create one for my equally fanatic friend as well. Lol.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you get to play along with us. Ps. The prize for this challenge is the 4x6 Margarita Set (Clear Stamps)

Getting Cricky: Challenge & Hop Winner

Hello Scrappy Friends. I know it has been quite some time and I do apologize for posting my winner this late but Ive been away enjoying the city. I guess my trip down memory lane (to Hollywood) made me want to make new memories :) However, it seems as tho having creating those new memories ended up making me ill. I ended up with the flu. It must have been those fleeting hours of rain we had. That's just my luck. Lol, oh well, that's all part of living it up :)

I would like to thank all of my new friends that clicked the follow button. I'm happy to hear that you really liked visiting my side of California and that you liked my fave project.  I hope to create  more of those for you.

Ok... so my winner for the hop is:

A Little "Hi" with a Bunny

White Rabbit from The Wonderland digi set from The Greeting Farm

Hi there, I'm here to share this card I created using daisies and the not so white rabbit :)  . I used the the OH, Alice! sketch and recipe. I used a Wonderland icon because it's one of my favorite story lines/ideas. The imagination and possibilities of that book is amazing and inspires a lot. I'm currently trying to use up my scraps but that didn't really work out. I ended up adding more scraps to my bin, lol.
