Bookmarks Galore

Hi! I'm here to share with you a few of the bookmarks I'm making for my niece's class. My niece wants to give her friends a cute little gift and she figured, "hey, why not have my Tia make them" lol. That means that it is time to use up those scraps. To make them a little fun, not the standard boring rectangle, I'm used different shapes, sizes and characters for these bookmarks. I don't want to play favorites with my projects ;) but I think I like how the Hello Kitty one came out the best. Although, it might have something to do with the fact that she took longer to put together due to all her little parts. Grrrr. lol

Flaunt It Fridays: Hello Kitty (Hop)

Good Morning Hoppers. Welcome to an all star Hello Kitty Blog Hop presented by Flaunt It Fridays.  We have 32 blogs showcasing various ways Hello Kitty was used. For our hops, we get to play with 2 different cuts. Our first cut, which is also the challenge cut, is Hello Kitty on the Airplane (which was presented to you at the Flaunt It Fridays site. Our 2nd cut is of our choice.  In addition to all this Hello Kitty love, there is over 20 new designers to inspire you today and every Friday to follow.

So lets get started. The hop begins at the Flaunt It Fridays site and ends with Jenny K. Today's hop is sponsored by Sarah from Pink Cricut. She donated "Love Always", one of her brand new Valentine sets. In order to qualify for the prize you must hop around to all 32 blogs and leave some bloggy love. You will have all weekend to comment and show your support for the FIF team.

You should be hopping over from Christina's blog.

Picture 2: Sentiment: Safe Flight
For my 1st project, I created a Spinner Card for you. I thought it was a neat idea to have Kitty spinning across the clouds. This card was made for a young girl traveling alone. I don't know if any ever flew alone when you were young but I did. And on those occasions, I always felt comforted when I had a "thinking of you" type of token. It made the flight a little less scary and a lot more enjoyable.

Picture 3: Project Two
For my 2nd project, I chose the Hello Kitty Head and the Luggage Bag. I wanted to keep with the same theme so I created an ID Tag and a Luggage Tag. I attached the ID Tag to a Hello Kitty lanyard so little traveler can put it around her neck. And I used the Luggage Bag cut to make the Luggage Tag. (Lol)

I hope you enjoyed my projects and I inspired you to create something of your own. Remember that Mr. Linky will be up and running for you to also play along.

Now you are off to see what Denise created for you.

In case you get lost or sidetracked, you can always find the master list on the Flaunt It Fridays site.
And in case you didn't notice, there are a few giveaways happening on the top right side bar of my blog.
 THANKS!!!

My Think Pink RAK

Hello Everyone. Sorry Ive been away. I felt disappointed earlier this week and my energy to create or blog surf was drained. It did affect me a bit but it was time to move on. I wanted to finish this project that I had began a couple of days back. These are all Pink cards that are being sent to women that are battling breast cancer. Theresa from The Scrapbooking Queen is having a Breast Cancer Awareness Challenge and she is collecting cards to give to a Women's Center from her community. I created in total 9 cards. I would have liked to have done more but I don't think I would have finished on time. As Is I think I'm already late on the deadline.

Picture 1: This is a shot of all them.
Below are closeups of some

I am also entering this in Robyn's Pink Stamper challenges. She had a fun filled week countdown to Karlee's arrival. Everyday she had a different challenges.
Day 1: Create/Make someting to giveaway (The whole set of cards)
Day 2: Create something Cute (I defenetly think that Hello Kitty falls in that category)
Day 3: Create a Halloween/Fall project (Used Mini Monsters and also Breast Cancer Awareness Month falls in Fall. Granted we should always be aware of this but this is the month that pays tribute to it.)
Day 4: Make something to give as a RAK

Halloween Cards

Hi Everyone,
It seems like I can't escape the fact that October is around the corner (which happens to be the month of my birthday). Although I do enjoy my birthday I also dread it (for aging reasons, lol) but in general I enjoy the month. The heat waves start to die down, I get fancy gadgets and trinkets as gifts, there's massive amounts of chocolate and candy everywhere and the joy of Halloween is everywhere.

So with all these challenges and inspirational cards floating around, I thought I'd join in on the fun. Since I'm trying to create a card in less than 60 minutes, I thought using the card feature would help in that department. But I start to feel as if I'm cheating when I use this feature so I try adding a little extra to them. I'm entering these 4 cards into this week's challenge over at Cricut Cardz. Their challenge this week is to create Halloween cards using the card feature.

Here are my 4 cards:
Picture 1: Shaped cards

Picture 2: Hello Kitty shaped card from Hello Kitty Greetings.
Kitty was cut at 51/2 inches.
I used metallic paper to make her cat suit more fashionable.

Picture 3: I thought it would be funny to give her a Hello Kitty candy basket. I still have one that my niece got a couple years back. We all love Hello Kitty.
This card will be entered in Emma's Throwback Thursday Challenge. Her challenge this week is free range with any older cart but it must be a card or a LO.

Picture 4: Fraidy Cat shaped card from Mini Monsters. He's at 51/2 inches. Isn't he's the cutest!

Picture 5: Well I thought cute Fraidy Cat deserved a cute diva girlfriend.
She is cut at 41/2 inches.

Picture 6: I made her pink and used thicker card stock. You need heavy card stock so the back of the card won't be flimsy.

Picture 7: Closeup of her bling. I gave her a rhinestone collar and headgear.
I will enter this card in Christina's Card Creations & More by C challenge. Her theme this week is Bling and Ribbon.

Picture 8: The candy bucket (slightly altered) from Mini Monsters.
He is cut at 51/2 inches. I cut him in orange card stock. Then I cut the front layer with the lighter orange CS. And I cut the back layer in black CS. The leftover piece of the black pumpkin was used for his mouth.

Picture 9: The inside of the card. I stamped it and used a small candy for embellishment.

Picture 10: Closeup of the candy. I cut these candies (except for the round one) from Mini Monsters. I taped to the back of the first layer and then adhered it to the card itself.
Thanks for stopping by. And as always, I love reading your comments and suggestions.

Birthday Season Has Begun

Yay!!!! I finally got my cricut. I'm really excited!! I have a lot of scrapbooking pages that I need to work on. Wait, let me rephrase that, I have a lot of scrapbooking albums that I need to work on. I am hoping to finish an album before the year is over.

Picture 1: The front of the card and a personalized envelope.

Picture 2: The inside of the card

Onto the post...

Birthday season has officially begun. I have a total of 7 birthday cards that I want to finish. So far Im def done with 1 (which is the one on the post) and the 2nd one, I just need to clean it up (which I will post later.)

This is a Strawberry cupcake card that I made for my niece that turned 8 on Saturday. Her party theme was Pink & Purple Cupcakes. I wanted to use those colors and use one of her favorite fruits (strawberries). I am also entering this card in 2 blog challenges:

Doodle Palace - Use Strawberries
Bitten By The Bug 2 - Use a Sun cut. I cheated a little on this one. I used the Sun cut from the Hello Kitty cart. I liked it because it doesnt look like a sun when a diff color of paper is used. The HK sun is the pink star that card is made up of.

Thanks for stopping by/commenting!!
I also apologize for the bad quality of the pictures. I had to take them with my iPhone.
