Smile, its Valentine

Hi there! Today is my day on the Quick Creations Blog with Valentine theme projects.  I decide to go with a shabby chic look for this my valentine, as its not meant to be romantic and more of a friendship card. It features the latest Dollie from The Greeting Farm. She is a super cute Valentine girl with all her hearts but I think she would look great on Hello cards or Birthday cards or anything really. So make sure you add her to your collection and by any chance if you don't have any, gasp! she'd be a great way to start.
My second project is a tag that ill be adding to my gift bag. It features this adorable Kitty from Cottage Cutz. This kitty brings a bee outfit and a flower with him but I thought Id leave him naked and furry just as intended, lol. You can pick this up and all the products used on my projects in the Quick Creations Shop. While there, make sure to take a look around as you'll find lots of great items at amazing prices.
Thanks for stopping by!

Flowers, Pearls and Hearts

Valentine's Day may have passed but I was just gifted this new MME paper pad that I couldn't resist. I love the pink and grey scheme so I went for it. I think it can work as a friendship/family love card.

I Spy... New Challenges, Magazine Publishment, Mini Prize and More

This post might be longer than usual but I wanted to get it all in one go :)

Well first thing first, Happy Friday!! The holiday weekend is here and it is time to start up the grills (hopefully I will be doing that soon enough)

Simply Betty Challenges are back after a month of hiatus. This weeks challenge is an easy one, create for a child (card, treat bag, gift card holder, etc.) Since I'm not on the card team, I sat this week out. However, I decided to be a guest dt for The Fussy and Fancy Friday Challenge blog. Why you may ask? Well, because Betty is sponsoring this weeks challenge and the prize is a good one... The whole collection of Jude and the Rockers in digi form (the only time she will be offering them as digis).

So if you want a chance to win the whole line, pop on over to the Fussy and Fancy blog and play along. Plus, this week is a simple one, just follow the sketch provided by Graphicat Designs. Here is my take on the sketch. I used Bonnie from the Funky Pirate line at Simply Betty Stamps. Isn't she a doll? I just love her stance which led me to use my "I Spy" sentiment. I just thought it went so well. Lol! I might be the only one but whatevs, hehehe. (I'm submitting this to the Simon Says Stamp and Show Challenge - Word)

Today is July 1st, which also means a new issue of Gingerscraps Street Magazine. This month I jumped down the Rabbit Hole and wrote about a subject I just love (and I'm certain I'm not alone). Check out who is published this month, you will definitely see some major eye candy.

As an incentive to hop on over to read my article, I created a little game for you. I made this collage of the published pieces for this month and numbered them. Your mission is to figure out who belongs to what number. Once you are done reading, come back here and leave me a comment with your thoughts and answers. Then on Tuesday, I'll pick a random winner and send you off a small prize pack (will include: dcwv mat stacks, Alice in Wonderland jolee stickers and some other items.) Click HERE to head on over to the Crafty Boutique (my article).

And since I'm in Wonderland mood, why not create a card and play along with a few other challenge blogs. Ill be playing along with:
Anyone For Anya - Follow the Sketch (I flipped the sketch to the side)
The Octopode Factory - Alice in Wonderland

A few other rambles before Blogger gets me...
- Previews end today for Jude and the Rockers, but it is also Release day! Yay!! So head on over to Simply Betty Stamps to get one of her awesome sale codes. She also has some Echo Park paper on sale for half off. Now where are you going to find EP Paper for less than 50 cents.
- Don't forget to give my girl, Kristal, some love over at Getting Cricky and at her store KAndrew Designs.
- This Sunday begins a new chapter at The Altered Alice, which means a new month of amazing wonderland projects.

Ok, I think I'm done. Whew!! :)
Thanks for stopping by/commenting.
Oh yes, one more thing: Come back tomorrow for a fun blog hop full of explosions and a Sweeeeeeeeet prize. Arrrrrggggghhhhhh!!!! lol

Super Loved and Patriotic

The big 4th of July weekend is upon us and it is time to pack up and get the heck out of here (hehehe) Sadly :( my plans fell through and I'm going to have to stay in the city and party here.... or just maybe... I'll take off come hour 23. Hmmmmmm :). But while I figure it all out, I have some stuff happening on my little blog here (and in true Jess form, I'm running behind). So I'll keep this one short and sweet for that reason. Make sure to come back tomorrow!

Image - Super Star Anya from The Greeting Farm (now retired)
Sentiment - Amazing You set from KAndrew Designs
(benefiting Doorways for Women and Families Charity)
Ps. I can't believe how patriotic this card came out. I was trying to be sly and use soft blues and reds but then the stars took over and I couldn't stop. And btw, how Amazing are Kristal's stamps. The set I used is definitely not the Patriotic set but I made it work!!

I will be playing along with:
My Craft Spot - Seeing Stars
Pixie Dust Studio - Be Proud
Paper Playtime - Red, White & Blue

Thanks for stopping by/commenting.
another post tomorrow. Hope to see you then :)

The end of the Mad Tea Party

It is the end of the Mad Tea Party and Frabjous Day is upon us. Lol! Seriously though, the month is over and the Tea Party has come to an end. But fear not, because us Yanks love the Mad Hatter so much that we shall be celebrating him again in October. For my project, I decided to create an Easel Card Invitation. However, it isn't your ordinary "Come to my Tea Party" party card. It's more of an, "Underland might be coming to an end soon but there's always time for Tea and Tarts" type of party card. Wow, that's pretty bleak. hehehe :D So to contradict the semi dark meaning and distressed look, I decided to color my image (Mad Hatter's Tea Party sponsored by The Artistic Stamper) in very vivid colors. I used my trusty Prismacolor pencils for the Mabel Lucie Atwell image. I used Prismacolor markers for the tea cups.

Thanks to all of you that joined us this month for our Mad Tea Party. The lucky winner and honorable mentions have been posted on the Altered Alice blog. Also, a Huge Thank You to The Artistic Stamper for the sponsorship.

Thanks for stopping by/commenting.
Ps. Jude and the Rockers previews began today. So hop on over to Simply Betty Stamps to check out the new cutie. And don't forget to come back later on for a brand new Simply Sunday challenge featuring KAndrew Design stamps :) and a tool I'm loving at the moment.

Simply Sunday: Anything Goes

Beanie Anya from The Greeting Farm

Hello Scrappy Friends. Welcome to another Simply Sunday challenge over at Getting Cricky. This week wasn't my turn but since it was an eeeeeeeeeasy one I decided to play along. This week is: Anything Goes. How perfect is that?!??

For my anything goes project, I decided to alter a mini Christmas tin to hold my buttons. I recently purchased several baggies of buttons and I wanted to separate them by color. I can be a bit ocd when it comes to that. :) Plus, separating the colors will help me when Im rushing to find the perfect button or the right color instead of throwing them all on the floor and scour through the whole lot. heheh. C'mon, you know you've done that as well. Once I'm done with all of them, Ill come back and show you the finished set.

So grab your scraps, grab your stamps, grab your cricut or grab anything your heart desires and link up for a fabby prize this week.

Also... this whole week we will be gearing up for a special blog hop and ustream at Getting Cricky. Make sure you hop around to see what all the dt members will be up to this week. I do know for a fact that my dt sis Erika will be having 5 days of previews and a prize so make sure you hop over for your chance to win.

Thanks for stopping by/commenting! And please make sure you come back tomorrow as I have some exciting news.

Modern Day Fairy Tale

Hi Scrappy Friends. So it seems as if I may be on a Twilight kick at the moment. My favorite of the sparkly Vamps is Jasper. He's so charming and masculine (but in a non threatening way) and plus, the actor that plays him is such a dream boat. Ahhhhhhh. Lol! I sound like a 14 year old. hehehe.  Ok, I think that's it for tonight. Gasp!!! That was quick. Lol!

In case you didn't know, my first magazine article was published and it's all Twilight. You will see a lot of Greeting Farm cuteness, just like the cuties on my card. Click HERE for a sneak peek and a direct link.

I used the awesome Deconstructing sketch. I just flipped it to the side. Thanks for stopping by/commenting!

Simply Sunday: Vintage

** Click the link to join the MAD TEA PARTY, Altered Alice Style**

Hi Scrappy Friends. I am here today with my first Simply Sunday Challenge for Getting Cricky. I am very happy to be part of Kristal's team. She is an amazing person and kind spirit to be around that of course I would want to be on her team. Ok, enough of the mushy stuff. Lol.

We are here today to kick off Team B's debut challenge. This week's challenge is Vintage Appeal. Now I feel as I may be missing some lace or something but I think the idea of Vintage has changed from what it once was. And we need to thank Mr. Timmy for that because now Vintage isn't just an outdated notion but a touch of old with a modern and distressed look (at least it is for me).

I created a tag bookmark (I just love this shape) using one of my favorite, if not The Favorite, Tickled Pink Stamps. This Gorgeous! bad ass gal is Victorian Steampunk Lilith. She looks like she is ready to take on anything and kick some major ---. hehehe. I just Love that about her!!

So now its your turn to come up with your Vintage funkied version. I cant wait to see them!!

I will be playing with:
Tickled Pinks Stamps- Anything Goes and the TPS FB Group Challenge.

Simple Hello

Hi there! This will be quick tonight. I just wanted to share with you another method to Clean and Simple. This one is a little more jazzed up than my first one but it still maintains that nice look. What I like about this is that the image is front and center and since the greeting farm images are beyond adorable that they can carry that burden, so to speak, hehehe. So go grab your cute image, whether it be a stamp, cricut cut or embellishment and give it a whirl.

I will be playing with: Wee Memories - Stamp It. A Spoonful of Sugar - Things with Wings. Lily Pad Cards - Inspirational Challenge #2 (Inspired by Sherri's Card - the black, white, blue combo and the butterflies).    Thanks for stopping by/commenting.

Simply Betty Stamps 50s Emo Kids - Preview Day 6

Hi scrappy friends. We are at the end of Preview week (awwwww).  First, I want to give Betty a HUGE Thanks for inviting me to be part of this release. It was a great week and I really enjoyed creating with the whole 50s crew.

After seeing a cheerleading London, jock Miller, hula hoop Rio, pinup Lola and greaser Christian, to finish off the cool 50s set, we have rollerskating waitress  BETTY for you.  Isn't she the cutest? At first, I was inspired by Frenchie (from Grease) which is why she has a pink outfit and some pink in her hair but when I sat down to put together my bookmark, I ran with the yellow and red color scheme. Those colors are def out of my comfort zone but I was influenced by the fries and soda, lol, I couldn't stop.

So what do you think of this gal? Are you ready to own her? Well she, along with the rest of the 50s kids are available at the SBS shop for purchase. They will be available in clear rubber form. Now usually Betty likes to offer a discount code at the end of preview week, so make sure to hop on over to Simply Betty Stamps to get the code and to check out the rest of the creations.

I will be playing along with: 365 Cards - Day 84:Ruffles. RCC4 - Got Cupcakes (the color yellow and polk-a-dots).                              Thanks for stopping by/commenting!! And don't forget to pick up your set.

Simply Betty Stamps 50s Emo Kids - Preview Day 5

Welcome back Scrappy Friends. Wow! We are already at day 5. Time really does fly! Tomorrow will be the last day of previews and there will be a hop with goodies and discount codes (to buy up this whole cute lot of 50s Emo Kids of course).

Today we have super smooth greaser CHRISTIAN for you. I originally had paired him up with Lola. I think they look great together but it turned out that they are both stars of their own universe (lol) so it wasn't happening. I actually like this setup better. You have London in the background cheering while Christian is checking her out while showing off. hehehe. I thought this sentiment was very appropriate for love stuck cool Christian.

Make sure you hop on over to Simply Betty Stamps to see the beautiful creations from the SBS gals.  Thanks for stopping by/commenting.

Simply Betty Stamps 50s Emo Kids - Preview Day 4

Hi fellow Betty lovers and scrappy friends. Welcome back for day 4 of previews. Today we have gorgeous LOLA for you. Check her out, she's so vadaboom!! She reminds me of  Rizzo but also of Sandy Dee (after the makeover). She's one of those digis that will work great for all sorts of projects. I mean all of them do but you know you tend to have your favorites, well Lola is one of my faves. If you want her (and I know you will), she and the rest of the 50s Emo kids will be available soon. Make sure you hop on over to Simply Betty Stamps to check out all the gorgeous creations Betty and her gals came up with.

I will be playing along with:

Clean and Simple, part Une

Please scroll down for my SBS Rio Preview Post

Sasha (Creepin Kit) from The Greeting Farm
A2 size

Hello Scrappy Friends. I hope you are enjoying your day so far. Ok, raise your hand if you feel you spend a lot of time on a card. (Insert me raising my hand, lol). When I began making cards, I didn't know better. hehehe. I had that beginner style and I didn't care for ribbon, flowers or any type of embellishments but with time that all passed. And so my love of embellishments grew and my card making time grew a wee bit out of control. So I began wanting to try to make quick cards. I was always amazed, still am, that all these gals were cranking out these amazing cards rather quickly. So I think its to time to go back and re-evaluate my methods. Once I do that and find my niche, I believe I will my win my inner card making battle (which I'm currently losing).

But in the meantime, I've decided to try to alternate in creating heavily embellished/paper cards and clean and simple cards. As much as I love this clean look, I also love the other kind as well and I don't want to give it up completely.

Ive also decided to do a series of different CAS cards with my Creeper Crew Creeping Kit. This way I get to play with my kit and find my path to simple gorgeous cards. hehehe. So I hope you come back to check out my series. There will be 7 in total (as there is 7 cute creepers), this one being #1.

Thanks for stopping by/commenting!

I will be playing along:
Wee Memories - Stamp Something. A Spoon Full of Sugar - Things with Wings. Lily Pad - Embossing (I used dry embossing). I was inspired by Peachy Keen Stamps - Sketch 52. I moved a few of the elements around but they are all there.
Ps. Don't forget to check out Simply Betty Stamps and The Altered Alice

Simply Betty Stamps 50s Emo Kids - Preview Day 3

Hello Scrappy Friends. Welcome back for day 3 of Simply Betty 50's kids. How are you liking them so far? We've had super cute and spunky London as a bad ass cheerleader with her potential jock boyfriend, Miller, now we have hula hoop loving RIO. She is really digging the hula hoops and is ready for the sock hop, hehehe. Oh the 50's, what an age of innocence. Lol, I'm writing as if I'm so old. Well I'm off to watch Pleasentaville or maybe Grease. Hmmmmm, decisions decisions.... :)

Make sure you [sock] Hop on over to Simply Betty Stamps and see what Betty and her gals came up with.

I will be playing along with: Simon Says Stamp - Sparkle and Shine. Paper Play Challenges - Sparkle Galore. Sketch Saturday - #156

Simply Betty Stamps 50s Emo Kids - Preview Day 1

Happy Sunday!! I'm very excited about today's post. Its the beginning of previews for the 50s Emo Kids from Simply Betty Stamps and I get to preview these spunky cute Emos with the rest of the SBS gals. I was jumping up and down like cute London when the whole crew arrived in my inbox. I just find the 50s fascinating - well... from Grease's point of view, hehe. I mean who wouldn't want someone like Danny Zucko crushing after you. He was hot, hot, hot! Ok so enough of my silly ramblings... Today is day 1 of previews and we have 50's Emo LONDON for you. Make sure to come back tomorrow for another cool 50s kid.

Emos will be available at the end of preview week but you can hop on over to her shop and check out her other super cute and spunky images. Make sure you hop on over to Simply Betty Stamps to see what the SBS gals came up with.
