Happy New Year...

Happy New Year! Happy 2016!!
I am here today to start the year off with The Greeting Farm and today is my first official post as a Farmer, WooHoo!! I'm excited to be returning to the Farm as a designer and I hope to bring you some inspiration.  So here we go... Its the beginning of the year and month :) therefore it's time for a new challenge to begin and we are starting off with an easy one... Anything Goes. This is the perfect time to create last minute Christmas cards :) or winter cards, birthday, really anything. You can use an oldie stamp (like I did) or a new image like the cute new hatters. I created a Thank you card using Flirty Anya as a way to say thank you to Marie and Rosie for bringing me on to the team this year. Its going to be great!

Now its your turn. Here are a few simple guidelines to play along with us:

– Entries must be uploaded via InLinkz (below) no later than JANUARY 31st at 12:00PM (noon) CST. Maximum 2 entries per person. (If the InLinkz tool is missing, feel free to link your submission URL in the comment section.)
– You must use a TGF stamp (rubber, digi, or clear) as your main image. Images must be hand-colored.
– The fabulous prize: A $50 Gift Certificate to The Greeting Farm Store!!
You have two weeks to email Rosemary (rosemary@thegreetingfarm.com) to claim your prize, otherwise prize is forfeited
Be sure to enter new creations only…No Backlinking please!

Ps. Make sure to click over to the TGF blog to meet the rest of the farmers and be inspired by them as well.

3d Starburst Star

Hello out there. I'm here to quickly share a 3-d star I created as little goody bags. The stars were filled with small candies such as starbursts and skittles.  I thought this would be a fun new way to give a little surprise to the kids. They'll have something to rip apart and which kid doesnt like that :0

Make sure to visit me on the quick creations blog as you will find the products used liked to the shop as well as find Christmas inspiration from the other design team girls.

Happy Friday!

On the 1st day...

Hello friends and Happy December! The year is winding down, the holiday season is here and that means that its time to mail your Christmas cards, start checking off your gift list and stock up on the eggnog... Mmmmmm, eggnog latte ....  sorry, got a little distracted there :) Knowing that the holidays can be hectic, expensive and over commercialized, I think its important that we slow down and focus on the important.

With that said, I present to you my 12 days of home-made budget friendly gifts. There are a few items I want to make and I thought why not share it with you. The levels of personalize will vary because some will be geared towards teachers, classmates where as others will be for family and/or close friends.

On my first day ... (of Christmas) ... I bring to you a linen bag.
I know you're thinking, a linen bag! who wants that?! But its not a regular linen bag, its a pretty one made for the crafty friends in your life. Ok so the purpose of this mini gift set you see in the picture is to send some crafty bits and bobs, such as wood pieces, clips, sequins, ribbons, project life cards, pretty much whatever you have extra in your stash that you want to share.

I created this bag the following way: I stamped this uber cute mermaid image, "Shelly" from the greeting farm using memento ink. I then carefully colored her up with markers, approx 2-3 markers per color. If you try this, be careful of the bleeding. I had a hard time especially with the pink colors, I think it has something to do with the pigmentation. You can minimize the bleeding by coloring close to the line but not up next to it. After I was done with the coloring, I added a few gems, attached a home made tassel and filled it with the goodies that will go along with it. Along with the linen bag, I created a mini 3x3 bulky envelope to hold my greeting card and the more sensitive items, such as the wood pieces. This was simple to make, all I needed was a 6x6 sheet of paper and the weRmemory envelope board. This is a great way to use up your 6x6 paper pad stash.

I hope that this inspires you to get creative and make your own crafty stash mini gift. Although I colored up an image, you can different mediums and items to decorate your linen bag and envelope. I will be back in a few days with day 2.

Since today is my day over on the Quick Creations blog/shop make you sure you hop over where you'll find my post along with the materials I used linked to the shop. While there make sure you take a look around as Noelle is currently having a Black Friday Sale. Thanks for stopping by!

Sweet Friend

Hello friends and happy weekend! Hopefully you're continuing your weekend with lots of turkey, cranberry sauce and lots of shopping. I'm continuing my gorjuss girl series and today I have this cute little girl with her butterflies and bows. She reminds me of one of the grimm brothers "fair maidens", don't you think? She was colored up with the Spring-Fall Watercolor set from Prima, which was perfect for this card.
These stamp sets are great because they bring the image of the gorjuss girl along with lots of extras, such as hearts, labels, animals etc. Click here to see all the gorjuss girls that Noelle offers in her shop so you can pick some up for you. All things Grow with love

Happy Tuesday! I'm here today to share a fall theme/back to school theme cards that features Dear Apple from the Santoro/Gorjuss line, who is just perfect for this kind of project. It may seem a bit late to still be working on projects with this theme as Halloween is around the corner, but here where I live fall weather has just began. Until recently, the weather had been 85 degrees plus and so fall weather seemed like a beautiful notion that was yet to come.

Our Fate Lies Within...

Happy Wednesday! I'm here today to share an altered composition notebook made for school. It features the Sweet Frou Frou greeting farm girl with an empowering quote:

Our fate lies within us.
You only have to be brave enough to see it.
-Brave. Pixar.

This quote was chosen so that it can remind the recipient to always be brave in whatever she does and to not be afraid of the unknown. I'm hoping that seeing the message daily, it'll ingrain itself into her psyche. A wonderful way to start the new school year.

Since today is my day over on the Quick Creations blog/shop make you sure you hop over where you'll find my post along with the materials I used linked to the shop. While there make sure you take a look around as Noelle is currently having a Back to School Sale.

Dreamer

Happy weekend! I'm here to quickly share a 8.5x11 scrapbook page lo using several santoro/gorjuss and lawn fawn products. I just adore this little girl because she looks so sweet with her earphones and teddy bear and she looks like she's just dreaming. This is the reason I titled it "dreamer" because it reminds me of my niece with her new purple hair and her love of music. Thanks for stopping by!

Make It Colorful

Hello! I'm here to quickly share a toki doki inspired piece. When I first saw this giraffe, which comes from a baby theme stamp set, I found it super adorable and used it as intended. You can see my previous card here. However it reminded me a character already out there and after a little googling, I realized that "Buttercup" the toy story unicorn that came to mind was much to simple for this giraffe to be transformed into. So after spying my niece's toki backpack, I was inspired by the unicorn Stellina and came up with this. This card will be for my niece, its a go get them type of card as she's had a couple of rough days at school. Ok, so now I'm off to find a very cool area as the temps here are rising and continue to do so for the nest few days. Yikes!
Thanks for stopping by.

Sweetest Things

Happy Wednesday! I'm here today to share a trio of creations I made using the Baby Anya and Ian set. This set is just completely adorable because, obviously you get both male and female babies but you also get the most adorable giraffe ever. These babies look great together or separate. I began with the tag (keeping the gift in mind) and then used the same technique to create a card. I did this to have a cohesive look so I could use them together, if need be.

In regards to the giraffe card, I was aiming for a back to school look/encouragement card but I may have failed in that aspect. Lol. I created it with  my niece in mind (as she is still into cutesy images such as this one) but when I asked what she thought, she said it looked like it was made for a baby :) So the sentiment didn't seem to make an impact and it looks like Ill need to change it.

Since today is my day over on the Quick Creations blog/shop make you sure you hop over where you'll find my post along with the materials I used linked to the shop. While there make sure you take a look around as Noelle is currently having a Back to School Sale.

Oh boy! Ian

Hello and Happy Day to you! I hope your weekend was a great one. Mine was full of cool weather and gave us a respite from the sun but its looking that nice weather inst going to last. There is humidity in the air and that is not fun. Moving on :) My greeting farm series is coming to a close over at Quick Creations and so here is my final project featuring Ian.

The last few days have been spent at the beach, the air there is much fresher and cooler than city air and so that inspired this gift bag. I know that it doesn't look like a summer/beach theme item but I went with the colors (blues and green for the water and kraft for the sand) to evoke that feeling. These upcoming days are going to be grueling hot again and so I need keep that feeling present :).
Now its your turn to get crafty. Thanks for stopping by!

Sweet Wishes

The Greeting Farm Blog - Summertime Challenge

Hello and Happy Day to you! I hope your weekend was a great one. Mine was full of sun, sun, a sweet boys birthday party and more sun. The weather has been out of control lately and Im hoping this week brings on some cool days. I'm continuing The Greeting Farm Series that is happening over at Quick Creations. Noelle is promoting several stamp companies and I got The Greeting Farm, woohoo! My character is Ian, so for the next few QC posts, its going to be all about him with some Anya thrown in the mix.

My previous Ian post had Ian and Anya going to a royal summer ball. Now, Ian is going to a summer party. This card was made for a sweet little 4 year old that just celebrated over the weekend. He loves cupcakes (of course), marvel (because he knows whats good for him) and being cute all around ;) This birthday Ian, although intended for birthdays, can also be used for other type of projects. I just think a little altering can be done or just left as is. I hope this inspires you to get crafty. Thanks for stopping by.

A Royal Hello

Happy Monday! I hope your weekend was full of fun and sunshine. I'm here today to continue the new Greeting Farm Series that is happening over at Quick Creations. Noelle is promoting several stamp companies and I got The Greeting Farm, woohoo! My character is Ian, so for the next few QC posts, its going to be all about him with some Anya thrown in the mix.

My previous Ian post was about him and Anya riding the waves, very summer appropriate. But now, they have put their bathing suits aside to look prim and proper and attend the ball of the season. I just finished reading a cutesy book titled "Flunked" that takes place in Enchantasia and its all about villains and thieves trying to reform themselves. It's a great twist on the princesses, villains and what happened after the happily ever after was said and done. The main characters, who is a brunette and prince with purple eye, inspired my coloring of Ian and Anya. My prince doesn't have purple eyes but everything else around him is, so that counts :) I hope this inspires you to get crafty. Thanks for stopping by.

Riding The Waves

Happy Monday! I'm here today to kick off a new Greeting Farm Series that is happening over at Quick Creations. Noelle is promoting the greeting farm characters and my character is Ian, so for the next few QC posts, its going to be all about him with some Anya thrown in the mix.

What better way to start off this series than with a very summery shaker card ;) Ian is riding the waves and enjoying life. I popped him into the shaker card portion so when the card is moved around, he'll look like he's out there surfing. hehe. I hope this inspires you to get crafty or get out there and ride your own waves. Thanks for stopping by.

Summer Fun in the Sun

Hello and Happy Monday! Summer is in full swing, but for the past few days we have had weird weather. We've had rain (much needed), horrible humidity and and unpleasant 90+ degree temps but spending time at the beach has helped. So with that said, here's another summer theme creation for you :) Just a few more to go, lol.

Today is my day over on the Quick Creations blog/shop. I'm featuring a C.C. Design image on my card today. I used this bright and super cute doodlebug paper to bring fun in the sun look. She looks like she's ready for a stroll on the boardwalk followed by a day at the beach :)  My supplies can be found at the Quick Creations shop. Make sure you take a look around as Noelle is currently having a sale!

Today is my day over on the Quick Creations blog/shop. I'm featuring a Pollycraft image on my card today. Since the treat of the season is ice cream, I wanted to use these cone/popsicle papers that are so cute and look great for this cutie that is having a great day at the beach.  Ahhh the beach, the place to be to hide from the recent humid temps.

S'more Fun with You

Hi friends! I'm here today to show you the Lawn Fawn cuteness that I'm sharing on the Quick Creations Blog. Since camping season is upon us, what better way to invite a friend on a trip than with a card that says, "Hi friend! Join me in the woods where we will sleep on rocks, twigs and dirt while we fend off mosquitoes and roaming hungry bears. But worry not, because we will have a fire were we will sing songs, eat s'mores, stare at the stars and scare ourselves half to death with stories of a masked lunatic that wields an ax and has a thirst for killing. Oh and fyi, nature is our bathroom."
Who knew that these happy little s'mores had all that to say. hehehe.

The products used on this card are all Lawn Fawn. Unfortunately this stamp set is currently sold out at the Quick Creations Store, but you can find other great lawn fawn stamp sets that will perfect for any of your projects. Thanks for stopping by!

TGF Guest Designer: Week 4

Hi friends! I'm back with a new project featuring the cute new TGF critters. Sadly this will be my last post as their guest designer for the month but I'll still be around playing with their stamp.

Remember last weeks tag? Today I bring you the rest of the project that goes with it. Since I recently jumped on the Pocket Letter craze I created a second one, this one, using all the critters. To see my first pocket letter click here. The concept behind this idea is to encourage pen pal activity between old friends, new friends, crafty friends, all sorts of friends :) These can be as simple or as elaborate as you like and the contents of the pockets can be changed around.

I used most of my critters to decorate my main pocket where I will add my pen pal letter. The rest of the pockets hold sequins, planner flags, bows, an about me card, some games and other things. One of my games is a tic-tac-toe card because I thought it would be fun to play an 'Across the Country/Pond Tic Tac Toe' game with Jess. It will probably take several months to finish this one game of tic tac toe but that's just something extra to look forward to ;)

Thank you Greeting Farm for allowing me to be your guest designer. Thanks for stopping by!
