Flaunt It Fridays: Martini Glass

Good Morning Bloggers. It is the last day of the year and it is time to party!!! And to officially freak out. Ahhhh, lol. I hope you have a fun and safe evening :)

Today we have a new Flaunt It Fridays challenge for you. We are working with the Martini Glass from the "From My Kitchen" cartridge. Like always, if you don't own the cartridge you can use a similar cut just like I did. I used the glass from the "Smiley Cards" cart. For my project, I decided to make a fun invitation for a Girls Night Out a la Sex and the City mode (My all time fave show).

Don't forget to check out the rest of the DT work. I hope you play along with us this week.

My Christmas Tree (aka My Sister's love for Disney)

Merry Christmas!!! I hope that you enjoyed your big morning and that you opened a lot of goodies. Since I'm auto posting, I cant share with you yet what Santa brought me this year but I'm thinking its going to be something good :)

Today I wanted to share with you the obsession my sister has with Disneyland. My tree is blinged out with all Disney ornaments (with the exception of a new Starbucks ornament and a few crafty ones made by my niece).
Picture 1: I couldn't avoid the glare from the sun.
In the background you can see a 4ft Mickey Mouse stocking my sister bought.

Picture 2: Here are some closeups, including my fave ornament: Woody.

Picture 3: She even bought a mini Mickey Mouse tree from Disney.

Picture 4: But wait.. there's more. The ornaments wasn't enough.
She decided to begin her Mickey Mouse themed village.
Now she's on Ebay looking for some from the past years.
She's a nut. Lol.
But of course I love her.

Picture 5: Closeups of the different houses and some of the characters.

Anyone care to share their Christmas decorations/traditions. Let me know, Id love to see it.
Have a great Christmas day. And see you after the holiday sales :)

Flaunt It Fridays: Turtle

Happy Christmas Eve!! This is it! The last day to get everything wrapped and ready for the Big Morning. Im personally freaking out because Im NOT ready. Ahhhh! lol. Christmas just snuck up on me. Anybody feel that way?

So onto today's card... This week's Flaunt It Fridays cut is the Turtle from Create a Critter. I had fun playing with the cut this week. I feel as if I can relate to the turtle. I sometimes feel that I work slow. Sometimes I'll take over a day to work on a card when it would take someone else an hour or so. And since I thought it would be funny to exaggerate my point, I placed  my tiny turtle in a scenery with big rain drops and semi-high grass to slow him down even more.

As always, if you want to play along and you do not own this cart you can use a similar cut. When you are done, go over to Flaunt It Fridays to link up. In the meantime, tho, hop over to the rest of the DT's blogs and check out their beautiful work.

Picture 2: I used my Prismacolor Pencils, Ink Pads and White Gel Pen to add depth to the cuts.
Inking the edges can work great when you want to cover up your mistakes, especially like I did. I got heavy handed with my Prismacolor pencil on the circle base. I didn't like the look/flow of it so I used my ink pad to distress the edge and blend in the colored pencil.

My concept was for this to be a "Sorry, I'm so Late" card. This is the reason why I placed the turtle in this scenery. The turtle is already slow as it is but add the huge rain drops into the mix, the poor little guy doesn't stand a chance. :)

Thanks for stopping by/commenting. I can't wait to see how you will Flaunt your cut.

Holly Jolly Hop Winners and Christmas Cards

Happy Hello Thursday Everyone!!! It is that awesome day of the month when our Visa cries just a little bit. How are you liking the new carts? I definitely want 2 of them.

First, I want to thank all you that came out to hop with us this weekend. I really hope that we gave you plenty of ideas and that you enjoyed our projects. I also want to thank all my new followers, as well as my old ones. I do hope you return to see what else I have to offer you.

I am posting my winners at the end of the post... first I would like to share a project with you. These cards are for my brother. He "commissioned" 6 cards to give to his daughters, gf and sisters (including me,lol). I told him that I refused to make my own card, mainly because I'm running out of time :), but I'll prob make a tag. Oh and commissioned is in quotations because his commission doesn't mean he will pay me, it just means that he is my big brother and I need to do this for him. Big brothers are big bullies sometimes, lol.

Picture 1: I decided to use this cute Peachy Keen Snowman.
I wanted to use the same image but colored differently and use different dp/cs to show how an image can be versatile.

Picture 2: This one is my favorite of the set.
This one was made for the gf.
DCWV Cardstock
DCWV Winter Wonder Stack

Picture 3: I cuttlebugged certain parts of all my cards.
I like the effect it adds to the card.

Picture 4: I used my Prismacolor Pencils to color in these Snow cuties.

Picture 5:  I'm playing along with:  Peachy Keen Stamps - #42 Emboss It.  GabbyAbby Challenge with SEI - #10 Santa or Snowman. Paper Playtime - #29 Snowmen.

And now for my winners ....
Day 1: (Cat Scrapbook & Kit) is
DONNA MUNDINGER from POPSICLE TOES
Day 2: (10 cuts from Twinkle Toes Cart) is
BONNIE C. from A SCRAP ABOVE

Ladies if you can please send me your info, I'll get this out to you as soon as possible.

Thanks for stopping by!
As always I love to read what you have to say.

Holly Jolly Blog Hop - Day2

Welcome back to day2 of our Holly Jolly Blog Hop. Thank you to all of you that came out to hop with us last night. I'm happy to see that you enjoyed day 1. I hope you are ready for more :)

Before I continue on, I want to remind you that you must hop along to every blog in order to qualify for the 3 Grand Prizes. Our Sponsors for the hop are Scrapadabadoo (a scrapping care package), Sarah Pink Cricut (a new holiday stamp set) and Always Crafting (the Mystery Prize-Peachy Keen Certificate).

You should be hoping over from Sandra's blog. Since I'm the last stop you can stay here and then loop around until you come back.

For my 2nd project, I decided to create a DVD cover. I know that during the holidays people like to send out newsletters to their friends and relatives. I decided that a DVD version of a newsletter would be a nice upgrade. So I will be creating a DVD for my sister. I will compile all videos and pictures of my niece and create a movie for her. This way she can have something to look back at in the future years.

Picture 1: Front of the Project

Picture 2: For my main image I used this cutie from Twinkle Toes. I just realized that she has a big head. They all do, Lol. But they are still super cute!!! I drew the face in myself. I was going for a peachy keen look. I also used a couple of my Prismacolor Pencils to shade in her skin tone. From time to time I like to use my pencils on my cuts. I find that it can give it a new look. I made a mini tutorial on how you can use your color pencils with your cricut cuts here.  Other carts used were Lacy Labels, Mickey Font and Winter Frolic. The sentiment reads, "Sweet Memories".
Picture 3: Final Product

Flaunt It Fridays: PaperDoll Sleigh

Good Morning Flaunters Thank you to everyone who hopped with us for our Grand Opening Bog Hop. We are so happy that you enjoyed our projects and inspired you to play along with us. For this week's challenge at Flaunt It Fridays we are still in the Holiday spirit. We were asked to create a project using the Santa Sleigh from Paper Doll Dress Up. Of course if you don't own this cart, you can use a similar sleigh.

For my project, I decided to play with my cricut markers again and create my own gift wrapping paper. You can see my first version of this here. Since I created the gift wrapping simple, I decided to jazz it up with a semi-fancy tag (the bell makes it fancy, lol).

Picture 1: PDDU Sleigh project

Picture 2: TAG. PDDU - Sleigh, 1.75inch cut twice.  name.
Joys of the Season - Bear, 1inch.
Joys of the Season - Santa Bag, 1.75inch.
Winter Woodland - Tag cut twice, 3&3.5inch.
Sentiment: "No Peeking that means you"
Picture 3: The sleigh was cut(marked) at 2inches.  I used my gypsy to create the LO and then let the black marker do its job. I then used my Prismacolor Pencil to color in the red portion of the sleigh.
I created the gift wrapping relevantly simple, but now that I'm more comfortable with this method, I'm going to try some different methods. So you can look for that in the future. For the tag, I used several carts to create it.

I can't wait to see what you come up with.
** Don't forget to return tonight at 7:30 PM Eastern Standard Time for our 2Day Jolly Holly Blog Hop.  We have over 20+ holiday gifts/ideas for you. Plus there will delicious blog candy to be had. You wont be disappointed :)**

Peachy Keen Project & Winner

Hello Everyone. I have a fun holiday mini project for you today...and the winner from Flaunt It Friday Hop (but you'll have to wait a little longer for that :). After reading Peachy Keens latest challenge, I got my brain out of its current funk and decided to create something slightly different. It is by no means a new idea but it isn't something we tend to do (at least I don't think). Well I decided to create my own gift wrapping made out of thin kraft paper (lunch bag material).

Picture 1: I used Smiley Cards Cartridge for the whole project

Picture 2: I used cricut markers to create the design.
I used several of the Everyday Faces from Peachy Keen Stamps.
The paper is approx size 12x12
Picture 3: Just for a little extra, I sparkled up the little bows on the gingerbread

Picture 4: I decided to make a companion card for the receiver of the gift.
Card - 4inches
Gingerbread Man - 2.5inches
Peachy Keen Stamps - Everyday Faces

Picture 5: Inside Sentiment "We Believe in Santa"

I'm playing along with:
Peachy Keen Stamps: Let's Face It Friday - Paper Bag Challenge
Getting Cricky with K Andrew - Simply Charming
Fantabulous Cricut - Gifts Galore
Cricut Cardz Challenge - Circle Shaped Card/Christmas Theme
GabyAbby Challenge with SEI - Glitter It Up

And now for the winner from FIF's Hop ....... MARY from KRAFTING MAMA.  Mary please contact me by the 15th of December. I can't find your email so I will wait for you.

Don't forget about our 2Day Holiday Hop coming up on Friday, Dec 10th. There will be 20+ ideas to get your creative juices going. Click on my badge for all info.

For my Blog Hop project, we were asked to create another project using any Winter Frolic cut. I thought I would create a companion card for my pink snowman.

Corner Bookmark

Hi Scrappy Friends. For today's project, I have a corner bookmark to show you. I have been trying to recreate this bookmark since October. I fell in love with it ever since I saw it on Kellie Winnell's blog. After it took me forever to color in my image, I waited another week or two :) to figure out what dp to use. Finally, I got around to cutting it, scoring it, tinkering with it and voila! 6 weeks later, here we are. Super quick, right? Lol.

But I know that my hard, laborious, prolonged work is going to be appreciated because my youngest niece has been harassing me for this image. She loves the coloring of the eye makeup and eyes, and frankly so do I :)  So I will be surprising her this Christmas and give it to her as a stocking stuffer. These are also great because you can use up your big scraps you have laying around. So its really a "Two Birds with One Stone" sort of deal (cute mini gift and use up scraps).

Ghost Willow digi from Tickled Pink Stamps

I'll be submitting this to Lil Lolita Boutique Challenge #25.
This is their last challenge as it is being closed down but a brand new challenge blog will begin in the New Year.

ANNOUNCEMENT: I am happy to announce that I will be part of the initial design team for the new cricut challenge blog Flaunt It Fridays. It is a challenge blog set up for all cricut lovers where you will be given an assortment of how to "Flaunt" a specific cricut cut. We will be kicking off the blog with our first challenge and grand opening blog hop on Dec 3. But before then, you can go over to meet the rest of the designers and sign up to win some Peachy Goodness. You must be a Flaunt It Fridays Blog follower before the 3rd.

Thanks for stopping by/commenting. I can't wait to see what you will create for us this week.
