"Snow and Cocoa" Inspired, p.2

Happy Friday farm friends, I'm on the TGF blog with another "Snow and Cocoa" inspired post. As you know, the Crate and Paper line is sooo cute with its pinks and blues but that also means that its really popular and sold out pratically every where.  Yesterday's project was inspired by a polr bear tag found in the ephemera pack.

Todays project was inpired by the whole line. I took elements from different pieces and used them as inspiration. I created 4 cards size 3x4 which I found  were the perfect size to play and experiment. Plus, they are perfect for a DD album or for project life. I used several greeting farm sets for this project. I like looking at all the smaller stamps on the sets because they can be used to create awesome mini projects.  I hope you found inspiration here and give it a go to create your own set. Happy weekend!

3d Starburst Star

Hello out there. I'm here to quickly share a 3-d star I created as little goody bags. The stars were filled with small candies such as starbursts and skittles.  I thought this would be a fun new way to give a little surprise to the kids. They'll have something to rip apart and which kid doesnt like that :0

Make sure to visit me on the quick creations blog as you will find the products used liked to the shop as well as find Christmas inspiration from the other design team girls.

Happy Friday!

On the 1st day...

Hello friends and Happy December! The year is winding down, the holiday season is here and that means that its time to mail your Christmas cards, start checking off your gift list and stock up on the eggnog... Mmmmmm, eggnog latte ....  sorry, got a little distracted there :) Knowing that the holidays can be hectic, expensive and over commercialized, I think its important that we slow down and focus on the important.

With that said, I present to you my 12 days of home-made budget friendly gifts. There are a few items I want to make and I thought why not share it with you. The levels of personalize will vary because some will be geared towards teachers, classmates where as others will be for family and/or close friends.

On my first day ... (of Christmas) ... I bring to you a linen bag.
I know you're thinking, a linen bag! who wants that?! But its not a regular linen bag, its a pretty one made for the crafty friends in your life. Ok so the purpose of this mini gift set you see in the picture is to send some crafty bits and bobs, such as wood pieces, clips, sequins, ribbons, project life cards, pretty much whatever you have extra in your stash that you want to share.

I created this bag the following way: I stamped this uber cute mermaid image, "Shelly" from the greeting farm using memento ink. I then carefully colored her up with markers, approx 2-3 markers per color. If you try this, be careful of the bleeding. I had a hard time especially with the pink colors, I think it has something to do with the pigmentation. You can minimize the bleeding by coloring close to the line but not up next to it. After I was done with the coloring, I added a few gems, attached a home made tassel and filled it with the goodies that will go along with it. Along with the linen bag, I created a mini 3x3 bulky envelope to hold my greeting card and the more sensitive items, such as the wood pieces. This was simple to make, all I needed was a 6x6 sheet of paper and the weRmemory envelope board. This is a great way to use up your 6x6 paper pad stash.

I hope that this inspires you to get creative and make your own crafty stash mini gift. Although I colored up an image, you can different mediums and items to decorate your linen bag and envelope. I will be back in a few days with day 2.

Since today is my day over on the Quick Creations blog/shop make you sure you hop over where you'll find my post along with the materials I used linked to the shop. While there make sure you take a look around as Noelle is currently having a Black Friday Sale. Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Monday!! The days are winding down and we have 10 days to go to find out if landed on the naughty or nice list. Hmmmm..... :) Today we have a fun Holiday hop with blog posts and youtube videos hosted by Noelle, owner of Quick Creations. Ok, so lets get started. My first card features A Random Fan. The cutie I used for my card is called Winter Kisses. She is just super adorable.  When I saw this I knew I needed it because my niece is really into cutesy reindeer. She has had her pet reindeer for 8 years now and he's not to be touched. So every year at this time, she shops around hoping to find her pet a companion.  I decided to create this one a shaker card to give it a slight snow globe effect. I didn't want it to be obvious but just a hint at it.

My second card features a Greeting Farm Dollie character. She is the latest of the Dollie line and is intended for Christmas/Holiday cards but I decided to rebel (lol) and use her for a Birthday card. I just wanted to show you that you don't necessarily have to use your stamps the way they are originally intended for. She works great both ways and I'm certain I can use her for other type of cards as well (just a little altering would be needed).

Winter Greetings

Today it's my day on the Quick Creations blog showcasing some Lawn Fawn goodness. This company is super adorable and i just adore all of their products.  My favorite winter line was the SNOW DAY collection which is shown here. Who can resist those bunnies. I couldn't and because of that I couldn't bring myself to cut up the paper so I decided to create a 5x5 spiral notebook. It will be great for all my notes for the season and afterwards. On the inside I added the little lovey dovey couple as a minor embellishment. All I need left is to add my name, if I so choose to.

I also decided to create a few winter/christmas cards using my Lawn Fawn scraps and their dies. The girls are from a greeting farm retired set (Miss Anya Scarves) but I have provided alternates below. Today is a gloomy day, getting ready for our big day of rain tomorrow (YAY!) so that means Ill get to "check out" for the next few days. I hope your Thursday is a good one :)

Have fun shopping! Thanks for stopping by.

Making Spirits Bright

Hi there! Today it's my day on the Quick Creations blog showcasing Whimsy Stamps as well as some Lawn Fawn goodness. These dies are awesome and Im using them on everything I possibly can :)
Ok so this whimsy stamp bear looks like he's having a great time with his little friends. I wish I wasn't so scared of sledding or i would definitely be speeding down a hill. But since I can't, due to no snow and fear (lol) ill just imagine it :). He's great for your christmas cards so make sure to add him to your shopping list this weekend.

Don't get me wrong, I love our 80 degree weather year round but its nice to wake up to a soothing sound. Im continuing with my Christmas cards, this makes number 10, I think. This one is using the adorable penguin from Lawn Fawn. He's super easy to color and theres not much to fuss with. The piece of ice was free drawn. Thats it for now, have a happy Wednesday.

Double Take Tuesday: A Christmas Sketch

Happy Tuesday! It has been nice and warm for the past few days so it's hard to really believe that summer is over but alas I must accept it and move forward with the Holiday madness :) Speaking of Holiday Madness, I used the new Holiday Blessings set for my sample. These trees are just the cutest and they look adorable in non-traditional colors.

This week, our hostess is Aeryn and she created a fairly simple sketch. Well I took it upon myself to muck it up. Lol. I shifted the center and switched the elements but I promise it's there. hehe. As I was saying about Holiday Madness, the new Holidays sets are perfect for creating assembly line cards cards. After all, that is what we aim for once December 24 rolls around and there isn't a card in sight. Lol. So if you don't want a lot of fuss or if you do, these sets are for you!

Now make sure you head on over to the TGF Blog to check out the proper and amazing samples.

Christmas in July, Part 3

Hi Hi! So the Christmas in July challenge really kicked my butt into gear and got me going. I have a goal to have at least 20 Christmas cards by November. I'm thinking if I create at least one a week, I should be ready by then.

I used Beanie Anya from The Greeting Farm. My dp is the Homemade Christmas stack from DCWV which is completely opposite of traditional Red and Green Christmas. But fear not as I have 2 stacks that are traditional and I need to make a dent in those ;)

Happy Saturday! I'm here today featuring Amelia from the new Lovey Dovey couple in a whole new light. I thought Id give her the Christmas twist and she looks just as cute :)

Since today is Saturday, it also means a new TGF Sketch exclusively made for the Splitcoaststampers forum. It is Sketch 28. I may have omitted a button here or there from the sketch but the overall feel is there. :D

Photo Op Challenge

Happy Friday! Today begins a Brand New Challenge over at Crafty Sprouts. The challenge is to create a project inspired by the picture above. We thought it was time to fully get into the Holiday Spirit (I mean I may be in denial about the fact that Christmas is less than 20 days away but that doesn't mean it isn't happening. lol)

Our sponsor this challenge is Bugaboo Digi Stamps. I used the very cute Christmas Elf, Deacon for my Santa's Little Helper card. I opted for a CAS look this week. I'm still on a mission to create a card that can be reproduced. I think this one may be it :)

Here's a sneak peek of my mini Mickey Village. The rest of it is underneath my tree.

Thanks for stopping by!

Ps. In case you didn't know, there's a Crafty Sprouts Blog Hop going on. You can win a lot of amazing home made blog candy and a FANPIRE set (currently sold out). Also most sets are on SALE for 12.50 with FREE shipping. Make sure you hop on over to the Crafty Sprouts Shop to buy the sets you may be missing.

Christmas Present Card

Good Morning!! Maybe not so good for some, seeing that Monday is dreaded by many. Lol! So far so good here with our weather although I do hear that the Santa Ana winds are threatening to come back. That's not so good, certain areas/cities are still without electricity. Yikes!

Ok for my card today, I created another gift type card but this time with a Vintage feel. My goal was for this to look like a Christmas present (which is why it doesn't have any embellishments). However instead of having a boring To/From tag (lol) I stamped the adorable Maria from The Greeting Farm Roll Kit. I colored her up in a pretty red dress (just like my Fancy Anya card). She too is ready to hit the Christmas party circuit and live it up. lol.

I didn't add a sentiment to the front of the card (because of the concept) so I moved it to the inside. The sentiment reads: "WARNING. Christmas Presents. Do Not Shake." Cuuuute, right? This sentiment comes from Crafty Sprouts. Speaking of Crafty Sprouts: Please join us on the 7th for a Fun Hop!!

Holiday Greetings

Good Morning Scrappy Friends!! It is a good Sunday over on my side as the sun is shining, there's a cool breeze, i have my electricity and the crazy Santa Ana winds have moved on. It's the little things, although electricity is not so little. lol.

Image: Fancy Anya, The Greeting Farm
Sentiment: Have a Cool Yule, Crafty Sprouts

I'm sharing today my first card featuring the no dark lines technique. This is not my first attempt but it is my first that made it onto a card. lol. The first attempt was done with Distress Inks but that didn't work out, I kept getting blobs and in the end I lost some features. So I put it to the side and gave it a go with my pencils. Hoorah, I finished and I really love this look. :) I I need to figure out how to do this with my digis because I have some digis that would look fantastic without the black lines.

I'm playing along with:  Bunny Zoe's Crafts - Christmas with Pearls. FFC - Monday Funday #6 (Power of 3, I used 3 pearls).  Simon Says Stamp - Anything GoesAnyone for Anya - Christmas ChallengeRCC - Kraft, Red, Brown7Kids College Fund - Non Traditinal Christmas.

Plus, Wednesday is a special Crafty Sprouts hop where we will be showcasing the latest release. Make sure to stop by :)

*************
I'm submitting this card as my Best Project of the Week (week 10 over at The Odd Girl). Although it was quite difficult to choose this time because I created 2 projects I'm really proud off, in the end the no lines technique won out.

Tag It! Round 2

WooHoo!! I'm doing the happy dance over here because a) it's Friday and b) the massive craaaaaaazy scary winds we had are over (knock on wood, I hope I'm not jinxing myself here).
Lol, ok so onto today's project. Today is our reminder day of our current Crafty Sprouts Challenge: Tag It! Create a Tag or use a Tag on your project. I created a set of Tags using these Greeting Farm cuties, WS Vivi and Beanie Anya. I was trying to create clean and simple tags that will be easy to mass produce and won't hurt me when they get tossed on Christmas Day. So far, I haven't found that tag yet. Lol. These took me a lot longer than expected but hey, then it wouldn't be me. :D

I hope you get to join us this challenge. You'll get a head start on your Holidays Tags and you get the chance to win an awesome prize: the SMILE ON set, one of the brand new Crafty Sprout sets. Speaking of, all IN STOCK sets are on sale for $12.50 with FREE shipping. Talk about GREAT VALUE!!! Stock is limited and the sale will last for a few days more. Christmas Already?

** This is my 2nd post for the day. Please scroll down to see my first one**

Christmas Already? Yup, it seems as tho that that is one Holiday that is on our mind all year long. Well aside from all the family bonding that gets done over the holidays, who doesn't mind the crazy shopping we are allowed to do as well. hehe.

So, the lovely owner of Tickled Pink Stamps and her uber talented pink ladies started the {Pink} Christmas challenges early on in the year so we can possibly avoid the mad scramble of the holiday season (lol, here's hoping but knowing me I'll be down to the wire come the 25th).
