Hello Scrappy Friends! I have a clean and simple card for you today. I just love cards with all the extra frills but, sometimes, I feel that simplicity can be quite as beautiful. Plus, it wont cost me two dollars to mail. Lol! Also, CAS can convey the message even louder. My message for today is: Love your planet. Easy as that.
** This is my 2nd post for the day. Please scroll down to see my first one**
Christmas Already? Yup, it seems as tho that that is one Holiday that is on our mind all year long. Well aside from all the family bonding that gets done over the holidays, who doesn't mind the crazy shopping we are allowed to do as well. hehe.
So, the lovely owner of Tickled Pink Stamps and her uber talented pink ladies started the {Pink} Christmas challenges early on in the year so we can possibly avoid the mad scramble of the holiday season (lol, here's hoping but knowing me I'll be down to the wire come the 25th).
I also created a gatefold style card with ribbon for a Christmas challenge that The Greeting Farm had not to long ago. You see, Christmas is everywhere :) So this style lends itself for several looks and lets you play with it whichever way you like.
Happy Wednesday! I hope your week is going well. I'm here to share with you a card I created in honor of Chloe's Smile challenge. She created this challenge to celebrate her 100th follower and really to celebrate the laughter and smiles that have come her way (hence the challenge theme and title). What she failed to mentioned is that she has provided much laughter and smiles to us, her followers. She is such a stitch. Plus wouldn't you know it, she comes from down under (where there are some incredibly hot men), she's a Team Jacob kind of gal (don't worry, I wont hold that against you. lol. I'm team Jasper) and she and her incredible sweet friend Carlene are Sex and the City fans. I became an instant fan of the two gals when I learned of their love for my favorite 4 New York women. So pop on over and check her and Miss Pink Cricut (lucky gal has the pink expression. I'm stuck with the boring champagne one, boooo).
I'm trying to get into the habit of creating flatter cards. Don;t get me wrong, I love pop dots and dimensions but its beginning to get pricey having to pay almost 2 dollars every time I want to send off a card. And after some trial and error, I have began making all my cards A2 size.
I will be playing with: Chloe and her Clip On Koalas - Smile Simon Says Stamp - Domi's Sketch Pixie Dust Studio - Let's Go To The Movies (Head on over to check out their super cute digi stamps. They just released a Red Ridding Hood inspired collection - Soooooo cute!!! and they are releasing a British Invasion collection as well.)
Happy Sunday Night!! I hope everybody is ready for Monday morning and get the week started (uggghhhh, lol). So it seems as Birthday season is coming up. I just realized that I missed a friends birthday and one my bff will be celebrating soon. As I sit here, typing this, I remembered the latter. Lol, I don't know where my head has been lately.
So onto my project. I thought I would dust off my Birthday Bast cart. I just loved that cart when it premiered and it was one of those that I neeeeeeeeded to have!!! I needed to have it so badly that Ive only used it a few times (since last year - i know, that's pretty bad). But I know it happens to all of us so I don't feel so bad :)
For the base of my card, I used the gift that comes with the bunny. This is the reason for the odd shape. I welded the shapes together and omitted the faux ribbon it brings. For my bunny's face, I used half a pks face and then drew in the rest. Hey, I'm working with what I have.
I can't believe it! I managed to get another card done. lol. I think it has something to do with the fact that it is raining here!!!! The clouds opened up and descended upon Los Angeles. Its quite beautiful but very unique (for us). I even saw some pieces of icy halo early this morning on the freeway.
I'm beginning to accumulate images that I have colored and I am trying to keep that under control. It's great to have ready to go images but it can be harder to then try to match up your paper to them. I read a crazy thing, suggesting I should gather up my papers first but really, who wants to make it easy for themselves. heheh :) This card was inspired by a blog post I read by Carri (A Busy Bee), who is on a mission to use up her scraps. The idea is inspired by Lala's Project 2011 to use up my scraps. I'm always up for getting rid of my scraps since my space doesn't allow for extras/overflow.
I used Creeper Crew Tuesday who is perfect for crazy hair coloring experimentation. She, along with the rest of the creepers, are perfect for the kid inspired sentiments from Inkadinkadoo. They both have that sass :) I also wanted to take the time to admit that I'm a TGF lover. I'm totally on board with that company and all its images. Oh oh :) Thanks for stopping by/commenting.
Happy Saturday! I hope you had a fun week and are enjoying your mid morning so far. I want to apologize for my bloggy silence. I have been quite busy with some personal stuff which has kept me away (nothing bad, all good). However, I managed to squeeze in some crafty time every night. It only took me a week to create this flower power card. Lol.
Today's card features the technique Charcoal, which is black coloring on kraft paper. The highlights are done with white pencil or pen. I learned this technique from a TGF farmer, sorry the name escapes me at the moment. She's amazing with her cards and coloring. I still need to practice this technique some more but for right now I'm very happy with my outcome.
The image used is Lil Lolita Willow digi from Tickled Pink Stamps (**now only found in rubber form**). The image is colored with Prismacolor Pencils.

As always, I love to read your beautiful comments.
Welcome to the first ever "I Love Lucy" blog hop!!! Today we are honoring the crazy and lovable red-haired lady that has made us laugh since the fifties (well not me personally, but you know what i mean. lol) I'm very happy and excited to be part of Abby's hop because I'm a bit of a fanatic like her. I own all seasons on dvd and several of her barbie dolls. But Abby has me beat there because I saw her list and Whoa!!!
OK so you should be hoping over from Linda from My Quilling Nest. If by chance you are not, hop on over to our lovely hostess Abby from Scrapbookaholic by Abby to start at the beginning and see all the wonderful Lucy projects. You do not want to miss any.
For my project, I was inspired by Lucy's Italian Movie. In this episode, Lucy gets a tiny roll in an Italian film. In traditional Lucy form, she thinks she will be a star from it so she wants to do it right. She decides to soak up the Italian culture by visiting a winery but low and behold she gets herself into one heck of a funny situation. I inserted a YouTube clip for your entertainment, it's my first time doing this so I hope it works.
For my project, I created a little piece of Italian Lucy for Abby. I took a few of the pinnacle shots from the episode and incorporated them into the letter A. At the bottom of the vat i wrote "BBY" so it can read Abby. Then to finish it, I added a few grapevines (to represent the episode). I wanted to keep this clean and simple because I wanted it to be all about the A and all about Lucy. I hope you like it Abby.
Please excuse the magnets. I used them to hold up the frame.
**Now for Blog Candy**
Mine: I will be giving away a gift card from BevMo. I thought what better candy than some wine candy :) to represent my episode. Or I can create one of these with your initial and your favorite Lucy episode or character (doesn't have to be Lucy). You don't have to be a follower but I would love it if you are. the
Grand Prize: To be eligible you must hop along to ever blog and leave some bloggy love. You will have until Sunday night to hop along. Abby has a great lineup of prizes:

Happy Wednesday Scrappy Friends. I hope the weather is treating you well in your neck of the woods. We are lucky enough to have warm weather today. That's the upside. The downside, I have been without power for several hours now and Im going to go stir crazy!!! Lol. The last time this happened I was able to leave my home and go do some , not so much needed scrapping shopping hehe. But today, my car is stuck in the garage and I literally feel stuck.
Ok so enough of my woe is me rambling, lol. I wanted to share a birthday card I created for Christy (owner of Tiddly Inks). Her college bff is turning the big 4-0! and she wanted to surprise her with a big pile of Tiddly loving cards. She even created this digi (Kellie) in her honor. How sweet of her, right? I hope she likes her blunted out red glasses as much as I do :)
Hello Scrappy Friends. Today I have a technique I have been wanting to try out. I was truly inspired by this amazing artist/colorist to color on Kraft card stock. I treated the Kraft cs the same way I treat the white/cream cs i use to color . I liked using the Kraft as my base but it was a bit rough to work with so I might not use it as often. And then again, maybe Ill experiment with different mediums and see what type of results I get there. Oh experimentation, experimentation, I hear it calling me :)
